New to hobby and worried about not having references so I think I overcompensated; the first lady I emailed asked to send a quick pic to verify I was me.  Phone doesn't have a camera so I sent a scan of my DL... doesn't have my SSN on it, but  I never heard from her again-I'm not overly worried as she is very well reviewed.  Maybe my DL picture just scared her away.

Bottom line... stupid move on my part, right?

Yes, it was a mistake for security reasons...  perhaps the level of your Newbie was too much.  Like most, I made plenty of rookie mistakes...   most before I found TER...  I was very lucky none bit me in the *ss.  Now I've read the Newbie Manual (at the top of this board), read the boards.  I try hard not to anything dumb...  but I didn't know how dumb I was until I got educated.
Do not be too hard on yourself.  Read up.  Then start shopping again.

yeah, the good part about this hobby is that if you make a mistake (of that caliber), no one cares and there's plenty of fishes in the sea to go after.  You're not going to strike out again and again (and then go on some barrel-emptying rampage in Pittsburgh or something).

Just hope your DL # and address don't get into the wrong hands.  We all need to do what we can to avoid identity theft.

why don't you put some digital pics of yourself in a folder on your puter, and use one of them if it happens again.

if it came to me.  A bit over the top.  I don't care to see the guy's photo either, those are usually from those looking for freebies.

That was a concern, no question.  But she has a ton of reviews so that put my mind at ease a little.

You are better to move on from this one. How can a provider know it's you if she has never seen you before. Other verification information should have worked perfectly fine.
