I've only seen a handful of providers, and when selecting generally like to minimize as many risk factors as possible. But recently, after my latest session with a girl I've seen numerous times, while talking about her past, disclosed that she had done intravenous drugs in the past, which needless to day is a big risk factor for HIV, considerably bigger risk factor than any kind of sexual habit. This worried me and prefer to avoid sexual contact with a woman who I know does drugs intravenously. Of course she claimed that always used clean needles, but I'm not exactly confident in her scrupulousness. Btw, FS was covered, but not oral.

I guess the question is, is this sufficient reason for me to be worried? If you found that a provider did or had done intravenous drugs, would this cause major concern for most of you? Some of the statistics I've found are kind of bothersome, like in Canada one study claimed as many 13% of intravenous drug users were HIV+. That's a bigger risk than I'm willing to take.

More broadly, how common is HIV amongst providers? I know there are other diseases to be worried about, but most are curable and not terminal, so HIV tends to stand out in my mind as a threat. Just wondering how prevalent it is in the community. I've always liked to believe it's virtually nonexistent, like getting struck by lightening, especially using protection, am a little worried at the moment.

PS: on a lighter note, I thought I'd mention I just barely caught a spelling mistake in the title and almost posted this as "should I get testes." Made me laugh.

If you have any doubt,, get tested. Even if you do not ,, get tested. This is a concern for you, many communities have anonymous testing and you will stop worrying. Cost varies from free to around $100. Just Google for your state and county and put your mind at ease.

We are very safety concious, we get tested frequently, we are careful but obviously if you feel concerned about your health, it doesn't hurt to get tested specially after discovering that the lady had used in the past intravenous drugs..

How would I likely know if a provider is thoughtful? Is it acceptable to ask her how often she gets tested? And even so, one could fairly easily lie about that.

Not all providers get tested on a regular basis.  Sad, but true.  Speak for yourself & not for the entire provider community.  I posted last year in my city on the STD subject, and stated that providers should get tested minimum every 30 days.  The response was insane.  Many providers only get tested when they have a scare, or once a year that is pathetic.  I get tested after every date, but that is just me.  I do not date much & always play safe.  I met a provider at a M&G who wanted to fight because of what I had posted on this TER board in regards to GYT it was shocking.  Money can not buy class, or manners.

The fact is there are many providers who have STD's & still provide.  Do not count on a provider to be honest.  Do not assume the higher end providers are clean.  I highly doubt all providers are thoughtful when the majority provide services, while on their monthly cycle without telling the client, so he at least has a choice.

Always GYT!  Nobody cares about you as much as you do!

Well if you're in the mood for being honest, could tell me, in your opinion, how much more common STDs are amongst providers than the general population? I plan to get tested, but unfortunately it's only been a week since, and as I understand, the results only start to matter about three months after. Which means about 11 more weeks of anxiety before I can see results. And if I do find out I'm HIV positive probably won't give a damn about the circumstances of it or anything else in the world for that matter after that point. So mainly I'm asking as it concerns my own current peace of mind (or lack thereof). Thanks.

most people will have antibodies in their system within about 2 weeks, enough to show up on a "Rapid HIV' test. You should test again after about 6 months using an antigen/RNA test to confirm the first test results.

A few bucks at Planned Parenthood or a free trip to the local LGBT clinic to ease your anxiety. Worth it, cause nothing else will.

The chances of getting something is slim but occasional testing is recommended regardless of the provider's activities if you are a hobbyist.

Ok I am going to get a bunch of PM's regarding what I am about to say..

If you used a condom relax your all set..To date there have been no reported cases for HIV reported from woman to man when using a condom..

I can understand your concern but no need so relax..

Unfortunately HIV stats are widely exaggerated but the truth is a infected woman infecting a man is 1:10000..You can find as many pro's and con's as you want on this subject but the infected fluid needs to incubate in the body to get infected,,The penis moving in and out of her pussy does not give the virus an chance to effectively get into the body..

Here is a interesting stat..The CDC says condoms are only effective 80% of the time!!!!! WHAT??? Well the reason because of user error..People use them incorrectly but it doesn't mean that 20% of the ppl caught HIV..

You would be shocked at how many guys want BBFS and get it..The providers may nit care about you but the sure dont have a death wish soooo just relax

FYI we have gone thru the shakes after fucking a girl that looks not so good after you fuck her..
So just relax your all good.

Finding out how and where to be tested. Several years ago I had the unhappy coincidence of an antibiotic side effect the same week the CDC announced the need for testing the population group I am in. They found some long dormant HIV strain in service members from the mid seventies. Before I could get an anonymous test my BP was through the roof, only slept about 2 hours a night. I was a wreck and the test took a week.   Do not assume the worst, just get tested. But do not assume the best either, get tested

Get Tested! You can never be too safe and a piece of mind is priceless. If you sat down in front of your computer to write this post  because it was on your mind that heavy you most definitely should get tested. They have rapid test in all local areas and now at home test. All thought nothing beats a good ol fashion trip to a physician. Think about it 4 to 5 day of worry is priceless to your sanity and certainty that your are clean. Besides you owe it to yourself and anyone that you might come in contact with. Ignorance isnt always bliss.

On HIV, in this business, "better safe than sorry" is a good rule. But unless you're doing Bbfs (and a few people would lump stripper slide into this) or shooting IV drugs with the girl, HIV is not the real worry. The infectious rate of that virus is pretty low unless you engage in those behaviors. However the risk of other things (eg, herpes, clap, gon, syph, hpv) are finite and real. Btw, not your doctor .

Judging from your tone, i'd say the better advice is to learn to accept the finite risks in this industry and minimize them where reasonably possible (like no Bbfs with someone unknown, running away from herpes sores). Otherwise, you'll go crazy.

While many women do indeed get tested regularly and do care about their health, there have been a surprising number of threads where providers have come out saying they test but once a year, or in some cases only if they "sense" something wrong.  The same way that threads about BBFS make the rounds, and I am often surprised by the people who think that kind of thing is perfectly ok.

I'm not a provider, the women I see regularly get tested at least once a month, but even with that reassurance I still go monthly myself.  Many of the testing facilities that do pornstar testing will also do testing for civilians and since it's their main line of work they are fast, efficient and as non judgmental as you can get (don't harass the clients, but it's not bad people watching either).  The rates are low enough you can pay without insurance.

You should not only feel good about getting yourself tested, but if you plan to make this hobby a long term thing you should (imho) get in the habit of doing so regularly.

It's your health, no one else's.  If you don't take care of it, who will?

Clearly if you're concerned you should get tested. That said, just because the provider has used a needle for shooting up drugs that doesn't mean she's at more risk of contracting any diseases. Did she always use a new needle that was never shared? If so that's very sterile and she would be a no more risk of something like HIV than if she snorted, ingested or smoked the drug
