Welcome to TER, TristaB. I am not a provider but I will share what I know to be true. Remeber to have fun at this and you go far. By the way where are you from?
I would suggest getting VIP for the PM feature until you get a review that you can link to your account and get the provider VIP.
I would also suggest screening every one as abusive clients do exist and LE can be worse. Use the there are lots of ways to do this. Use the search feature to find out how.
Study the Self-Help Manual and Message Board Policies. They will be a great help. Also learn to use the search fetcher.

Participate on the boards. It will make it so guys are more likely to take a chance on you if they get to know you better. Also once you get a review you can link your TER id with your review and each post becomes a mini ad of sorts. Here is a link how to do this.

You will need an ad on the web or a web site to get TER reviewed. Google escorts in your area to see the best places to advertise in you neck of the wood. If you have a website you me want to get it TER reviewed. You can advertise once a week on your local board. You will need a TER banner on your website to link you site to your TER ad if you have on. Don't be afraid to to ask for reviews. Some guys only write a review if they know you want one. But don't be pushy. Some guys don't write reviews be OK with that.
Most importantly have fun and enjoy your job. This is the key to making it in this line of work. If you enjoy it it will show and your reviews will reflect this. Have fun!

I forgot to add set your standards on what you want to provide and stick to them. Don't be pushed into doing anything you don't want to do.
