Look at the reviewers and see how many other reviews they may have posted.  Depending upon the answer, it could up your comfort level.

How about a link to her reviews? I wouldn't worry.

That can both ways also. When I was in the service, I had several providers ask me if I was LE because of my appearance. After showing them every piece of ID I had, I finally convinced them. The next time one asked me that, I replied, "No, are you?" That caught her off guard and helped break the ice.

The best way is simply to ask.  Before any money is exchanged or even discussed in person, come right out and ask the question.  "Are you a cop?"  If they refuse to answer directly, then you have cause to worry.  If they come right out and say "No, I'm not a cop" then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.  A real cop isnt going to risk blowing the bust by lying to you.

Ragal, you didn't mention where you found this provider. That has a lot to do with it. Check to see that the reviewers have lots of reviews. You can do that by clicking on the reviewers name. It will then show all the reviews of the clients. Nothing is a sure thing, but I agree with a previous post, chances are she is NOT LE

It does not invalidate the bust.  I don't want to be the guy before the judge saying, well she said that she was a prostitute, not a cop, so I figured it was OK.

Homework is the answer, and there are no shortcuts.

VIP membership lets you not only check the providers history but also the reviewers. It's worth the extra $20 this month just to get your feet wet. Go ahead and see how it works and i'm sure you'll never want to be anything but VIP again, that is if you plan to see other ladies.

If at least a few of the reviewers have written more than 6 reviews and they have been around a few years you should be safe.

Now forget about asking if someone is a cop as that is a myth. No way is a cop going to say sure i'm LE and i'm here to bust you    Oh my god! I wish it were that easy.

This nervous already?  The only answer I can give you is, to be blunt:  DON'T HOBBY.  Don't even think about it.  That's the only way to be truly safe from LE.

Personally, if she has 6~7 good reviews, she will most unlikely be a cop.

To all newbies, IGNORE that. Its dead wrong.

If you see only well reviewed ladies, by those who have each made multiple reviews themselves, then your risk of LE is very low. But it will never be absolute zero no matter what you do.

I think it's when a provider has only one or two reviews but even then you have to pay attention to the wording. If it seems to you that the 1-2 reviews were VERY carefully worded it could be a set-up but not likely here on TER, bad news travels real fast.

 short summary My first provider after emails and call for appt and on my way ..When I make final call to get location she asked me if I knew the donation $$$??  I was really worried it was a sting since she asked,but she looked so hot I went anyway..and she only had three reviews.

A provider told me one time that she had a hard time telling military from LE; I guess it's because of the short hair, posture, and serious look. No, I didn't have a woolly booger. (haha)

I'm always a bit nervious on a first date...  not from fear of being busted but the unknown of will I have a good time or some scam?  Since joining TER, I read the complete review (numbers are not enough) to get a better idea.  Chemistry can not be guarenteed but I'm scam free now.

Thanks for the responses you all....I will check on all the reviewer's past as well. Wouldn't simply putting the donation down while verbally stating " this donation if for you to dance for me", then ask her to dance for 5 min take care of any issues in case this was a sting. OR - by simply waiting for her to make the first move; no cop would actually drop my pants w/o asking me first....

Some other stuff being new: I keep hearing and reading that "you can't talk about sex"...Well - I want to get my money's worth and would need to tell her what I want to do for the next hour....What's the point otherwise. We all have different needs and I don't want HER to dictate or choose what's being done or not done. I know exactly what I want and ONLY want to pay for that - how and when do I tell her that if "we can't talk about sex acts"....?

Ok, here's the deal...spend the $20 to become a VIP if you aren't already.  The information that you're seeking is in the reviews.  Hence, the more reviews, and the more history that the reviewers have, the more likely that you'll get your answer without saying a word to her.  Then, AND ONLY THEN, should a newbie contact the provider to set up a date.  At that point, since you've read about what she does, the only stretch is whether she'll do those things with you.  Take a shower, trim down on the ball hair, brush your teeth and be a nice guy.  If after all of that, you feel that it didn't go as you read, bitch like crazy on your regional board.

Too many guys look at a picture and figure that if she's got a website, she'll do all kinds of twisted stuff.  Some do, and some don't.  That's the reason TER exists.

Ok I suppose my answer was a bit naive in its wording.  Yes they may lie, if they figure you are too embarassed at getting caught to fight it in court.  I guess I tend to focus too much on the practical aspects, as I really dont have much to lose by being pegged.  I've been through it before, the process holds no fears for me.  A family man would have a whole lot to lose by letting this go public, and cant afford to get into a big court fight.

However, just to make it clear, my answer does not come from watching TV.  It comes from hard cold experience.  Any cop that has to lie to get you to commit a crime has blown his case to shreds if a halfway competent lawyer gets ahold of him in court.

Cops CAN an DO lie "fight" crime.  These lies can be used to create opportunities, and even entice people to break the law.  They can get away with it so long as the lies don't coerce someone into doing what they wouldn't otherwise do.

Assume this scenario:

1) Cops post false ad

2) John call number and is told what to expect

3) John arrives at appointment, and the last minute plays the "are you a cop" card, and is told no

At every step, the cops are lying.  Also at every step the John is showing his willingness to commit the crime.  Just asking indicates his criminal intent.

It has nothing to do with any oath the officer may have given about doing his job.  

It also has nothing to do with the idea of "entrapment".

It has to do with the idea that you are protected by the Constitution from making any statement that may inciminate you in court or to a police officer.  Thats why when they arrest you they have to read you Miranda rights.  They cannot use any statement you make legally against you until they read you those rights.  If you outright ask someone if they are a police officer, and they say "No", you have every right to believe what you say to them will not be used against you in a court of law.  You have every right to believe that the person you are talking to is NOT a police officer or any court appointed representative, and that your words are not going to be used in a criminal case against you.  Since the undercover cop is not likely to actually go through with having sex with you, you haven't done anything yet to break the law and your words are inadmissable in court.  What are they going to convict you with?  Hearsay?  Not likely.  If you say nothing incriminating before you ask the question, and have a plausible story for being where you are, the court has no choice but to throw the case out for lack of evidence.

Now again, this only works if you dont have a name or a reputation to lose by being dragged through court.  But if you are just a average schmuck like me, grinding through your day, they have nothing they can scare you with if you choose to exercise your rights.
