Re: No luck with providers

Frustratingly, I've had the same problem.  I'm in the military & am in a position where the date check services can't verify me.  So, it kind of sucks.  I guess I'll just keep trying.  Seems the agencies in the area I now live also want references.

I have sent emails to several reviewed providers with no luck of course being new I am sort of scared out of my mind for obvious reasons. I have been reading posts and information on TER for years and finally have decided to take the plunge but the process has been sort of very frustrating. Does anyone have a suggestion? I posted this on my local board with no replies. Any help would be appreciated.

If you send out your resume and cover letter and get no replies, then you need to change you apprach.

Reconsider your wording or style.

Just a simple introduction with your name and how you found her.  Perhaps what attracted you to her...was it her style, her sense of himor, wit or just that she is so beautiful.

Ask if she is available at a specific date and time (offer a secondary appointment date and time), tell her how long a session you were looking for.

If you still get no response, consider a reputable agency, but make sure that they will be willing to offer you a reference in the future.

Good luck and patience my friend.  It is not easy to get started sometimes...but you will.  You waited this long you can be patient and wait a bit more, but it will happen.

To get started I chose preferred411.com. As a verification service, it helped get past the "no references" problem and worked out very, very well for me. Even then, it still took a few tries to get that first appointment, but it was WELL worth the time I put into it.

As for what to say in your email, I suggest keeping it to-the-point and brief like any business message. Also, give a good amount of time for the date you are requesting (like a week). This gives her the time to see, read, and reply to your request.

Don't fret over it, it will happen.

...and have fun when it does!

Hard to say without actually seeing what you sent in the email, hope it was nothing dumb. LOL! If no response I will usually send a follow-up 3 or 4 days later before moving on. Maybe look at these ladies websites and see if they have instructions on initial contact, they may require a completed contact form first, some even want you to call first, there is no standard in this biz.

I'm a fellow newb -- having seen exactly one provider one time (so far). I didn't shop around ... I had precisely one lady I was interested in seeing and I did two things:

Filled out the form on her website. Seems that many providers have one and prefer that as the first point of contact. If she has one, don't bypass it. If you ignore her instructions, she may ignore you.

Then I sent a follow-up e-mail. I told her a bit about myself, both to help her screen me and to let her know why I wanted to schedule an appointment specifically with her.

I got a response within a day, and had an appointment scheduled within a few more.

Keep that kind of approach in mind, keep trying, and good luck!

Thanks for all the advice I will try what you stated and see what happens. I may have actually been a bit to vague and not enough specific detail. Do sites like date check work? I have seen some people recommend them as well. Thanks again for all the help.

many of the agencys have a more liberal screening policy, you might wanna try them

if you want more info kindly PM me & I'll give you other suggestions

Well, have you complied with their prescreening requirememts, e.g. "filled out their webforms?"  Also, have you looked into joining a service such as date check or room service?  This makes it easier for first timers to get a date.

Wow do I know that feeling. It makes me feeling like I'm not the only one that seems to have a hard time making first contact.  I have seen three providers, but it came by never giving up. Knock on enough doors and one will bound to open. I've had a provider review my past email attempts with other providers and she states there is nothing in them that would cause a provider to hesitate or be cautious. I guess it just part of the hobby.  Good luck

Some providers will not, under any circumstances, see men younger than a certain age.  Usually, that cut-off point runs between 30 and 40.  Are you in the under-30 group?  If so, try agencies for a while.  You should have an easier time getting an appointment there.
