I have never been with a provider but am hoping to schedule a session next week.

I have contacted two ladies.  Both responded in a timely manner (less than a day) to my initial e-mail.  I replied back with all of their required info for screening.  It has now been almost 3 days and no reply from either.

I'm wondering how long the screening process usually takes.  Since the day I have open is rapidly approaching (still have about 10 days though) should I contact some more providers?

I'm not exactly crazy about that option because that means giving out personal info to more people.

Just looking for any advice regarding this situation, or any advice in general for finding newbie friendly providers.

All depends on what info they required and how busy their schedule is at the moment.  If you don't here back within another 48 hours, you might want to move on.  Some ladies do not have very good business practices.

I went through this arduous process back in November.  I am a paranoid freak so I refused to give my work info to a provider.  My advice would be the following 3 steps:

1. Sign up for Date-Check (or other heavily used verification service).

2. Select a WELL REVIEWED provider who is in town and has recently posted an ad on your regional board.  They are most eager to get clients, and still honest, and at least decent quality IMHO.

3. Contact the provider of your choosing (from #2 above) within a day or two of your desired appointment.  If you give her too much time, in my experience, she's going to rationalize all the reasons why she shouldn't see a newbie.  

People may not agree with #3, but following it has worked for me.  Once I gave a provider more than 2 days notice, and she started hassling me for a photo (to which I politely declined) and the appointment never happened.
