Go to a 7-11 or walmart...buy the phone and a card that pays for minutes (sometimes your first batch of air time is included with the phone). The whole thing won't cost you more than $30...and you will be total anonymous; no bills to the house, no credit card receipts, no call log.
But...I don't want to ignore the 400 lb gorilla, but you simply going out of town for a week is enough reason for your SO to check phone records???
Many years ago, when I was a younger man, I was busted once. I went to Vegas on a business trip. I actually tried a legal provider (I was alone for the entire week and got bored). Being somewhat of a naive young guy, I charged the experience with the promises that it would show up on the credit card as something generic and harmless. This was one of those well established houses out there.
My wife out of boredom read through the credit card statement and saw the large charge. I quickly struck first and told her I was really embarassed, but it was for the VIP room at a strip club with a bunch of guys from the trade conference I was at. I said they all paid me and I put it on my card.
She bought it because to her that was bad enough, and my admission of guilt seemed to work.
Ever since then, I really just try to cover bases. Normally if I sneak out to see a provider it's on a random work day at lunch time, and honestly I don't see providers nearly as often as my fantasies urge me to. Maybe once per year? Well, now I am away on a trip, and if she gets suspicious that anything may have gone down, where is she going to check?
Naturally, I put myself in her shoes. I would check phone logs, ATM statements, etc. 98% chance that she wont even think of it, but there is a 2% chance.
