I've never been into anal. Don't know why.

I'm going to be seeing a provider who I know does enjoy it, though. I thought it might be a nice touch (no pun intended) to finger her anus while engaging in vaginal sex.

Here's my dumb questions. Is a lube necessary for anal fingering? Is there any intercourse position that lends itself better to doing both at once? (I'm assuming that doggie style would be the best). Any other suggestions?

I don't want to have to stop the action to go grab some lube or something else. I'd rather just be prepared should it seem like a good idea at the time.

Lube is always a good idea for anal. It prevents pain for sure even for seasoned players.  Good luck.

Let her know before the appointment and remember that you can make her very sick from cross contamination, they are separate for good biological reasons. you two have fun.

Don't just ram it in unannounced. Talk to her about what you would like to do, and yes lube is always a good idea when you play at the back door.

I know about not using the same finger(s) for the anus and vagina. For some reason I wound up with a box of hundreds of physician's latex gloves, so I could wear one. I also regularly bring hand sanitizer, so I'd use that as well, or instead of the glove.

I ask before inserting my fingers anywhere (I have a thing for inserting in a provider's nose  .  I'd wait until it seemed like the right time to ask.

I guess I'll just keep a tube of lube nearby should she say yes.

In addition to all the good comments you've already received, I would add that, yes, Doggie is the best position for both intercourse and anal play simultaneously. And you will be using your thumb, not a finger. In that position that's what works best.

Certainly do keep a tube of lube close at hand.  I usually start by rubbing very lightly on the outside and if I don't know the lady's preferences, that's when I'll ask her, Do you enjoy being touched like this?  Her answer will determine what happens next.  If she's into it, lots of lube and full penetration will follow.  I like to bring along a small sex toy for anal play.  If the lady is into it, putting it inside her butt while you are screwing her can feel awesome for the both of you. If grk is on the menu, this anal play is a good prelude.  If not, it's just good fun on its own.  Let us know how it goes!
