Re: being a new provider...

What I find hysterical is that I am nowhere near new. I have been a provider for years. But most of my clients aren't from TER so I only have one review and one in the works. I'm sorry but I have bills to pay and posting an ad a week for several months until someone decides to take a chance on me isn't possible. I just advertise elsewhere but stay active here so I can eventually get the reviews that satisfy the hobbyists criteria. I am actually quite successful and am generally busy most days but the screening process is a nightmare without a site like this. If you're able to consider it, try posting ads on other sites while remaining active here until you build a good reputation in this community. That's my best advice :)

How am I supposed to know reviews are legit?  Is there any sort of vetting process?  There are many providers with less than 5 reviews.  What is a minimum number of reviews most of you are comfortable with? Thanks in advance!

1. to me 6 or more. Some will tell you at least 10.
2. the reviewers should have also reviewed about 6 or more providers. Again others will say 10.
3. Click the link to her website or ad and check out her photos with Tineye or Google to see if they are hers or belong to someone else.
4. Google her phone number and see if anything unusual comes up. (EX: a bunch of providers with the same number.)
5. PM some of her reviewers and see what they have to say.
6. I will go with a provider with less than 6 reviews if I trust some of her reviewers and can check her out in other ways.
7. Check out your regional discussion board to see if she participates. You can get a feel for her there. However it's not really indicative of anything if she doesn't participate.

Newbies should only see well reviewed providers. Check out the ad board for your region.

Solid advice. Thank you.

What are your thoughts on reviews that are somewhat spread out?  IE Oct 2011, Jan 2011, Jun 2011, July 2011.

...Once a guy has reviewed her he won't do it again unless there is a very good reason so if she sees more regulars she won't have reviews often. Some guys don't review at all. I'd be more concerned if there was a large gap between reviews such as year or more. Spread out such as you describe doesn't get my attention.

some providers are very low volume,,i have seen providers with only one or two in a year's time..they still provide but see clients who do not write reviews or clients ho do not belong to TER..i would not read too much into the frequency of their reviews..

So gentlemen, explain to me then how a 'new' provider will ever get clients if you only see 'reviewed' providers. Everyone has to start somewhere, seems kind of jaded to me and not really fair for us new girls. Guess you'll be missing out then lol

...of TOFTT - taking one for the team by trying someone new.  They like to be pioneers by discovering hidden gems.

As 'xyz' said, participate in your regional discussion board if you have something to contribute and also advertise once a week on your regional ad board.

...some providers won't see newbies at all. You have read guys here asking how do I get references if I can't see anyone because I don't have references. For the guys one of the best answers to that question is sign up with a verification service.

I didn't say the above to blow off your question though. Your point is well taken. Note though that we say newbies should only see well reviewed providers. That says nothing about veterans of the hobby. BigPapasan said it, There are veterans that will seek out unreviewed providers. Take his advice and post ads on the regional ad board and post on your regional discussion board. You will get their attention.

Also there is nothing wrong with encouraging your clients to review you after the session is over. Just be sure it's not done in a way to make them feel pressured to do it and make sure they don't get the impression it better be a good one.

I had a provider say to me as I was preparing to leave a session, "you can write a review if you want."
That was all. No pressure, no implied suggestions.

Got it xyz...but I'll tell ya...I like the pioneer idea in the industry with trying someone 'new'...hell everyone was new at some point...provider or hobbyiest, maybe you're all forgetting that...or maybe not lol. Myself being new, I've got my website started etc etc..but P411 wont even let me in the door as a provider to become part of their verified service. Personally, I'm like there should be some sort of protocol for new girls or guys in this business to get started on a fair level...cause like I said, you veteran hobbyiests are missing out if you only stick with the veteran providers, just my opinion...like riding the same bike over and over lol...just kidding, just a lil sassy today, the sun isn't out...lol

on your geographical area. NYC or LV rates will not work in the south or midwest. There are numerous threads about rates and rate structure so use the search feature. If you want to PM me with any questions, I'd be glad to help.

If you have any friends that are on date-check they can extend and invitation to you and you will be granted a Date-Check based on the fact that they vouched for you. My first couple of clients came from Date-Check and while I didn't have any reviews, date-check helped my clients feel comfortable. Reviews came from those dates. Once I had reviews I was able to get on p411.

I also advertised a TOFFT special until I received my first review from an established member of TER. It worked in my favor.

Best of luck!

but NEW hobbiests & the risk adverse stay with well reviewed providers.

What's a new provider to do?  She can post ads on her local ad board or any area she's touring 1 ad / every 7 days, just follow the rules.  Don't try to sneak in ads on other boards BUT replying to threads & participating improves members comfort level.  I have made dates based on board conversations & then PMs.  You might want to pay for VIP (or maybe wait until you need access to the PM system).  All accounts are the same UNTIL you get reviews, then you can request free "limited VIP" for providers.
There are always clients who wantto be the "first".  New hobbiests probably can't review you anyway...  MOST often NEW Hobbiests reviews of NEW Providers are held until both gain creditability...
