Do you understand the difference between your board handle and your alias. You posted this question using your alias, it's a benign question which easily could have been posted using your ter handle. Now concerning post requesting info on an escort using an alias, many consider that bad form. Respondents have no idea who they are responding to. As mrfisher pointed out, if you post regularly using your board handle you build a reputation and people are more likely to respond.

I see a lot of references to "aliases".  What does everyone exactly mean? It seems like using an "Alias" when asking for provider information is a bad thing.  Am I supposed to be posting with my real name or something? I don't get it.

You make a reputation for yourself - good or bad based on how you post and review on the hobby boards.

Sometimes things come up that you might want to address or ask questions about but you don't want your "name" or "known" board handle associated with it.  Here at TER posters can create an alias so they can post without using their regular board handle.

those that TER allows you to set up so that you don't have to use your regular board handle.  If you go to Account Manager, you will see a link to "my aliases" and from there you can set up umpteen aliases.

I'd advise you to brush up on the proper use of aliases on the boards before doing so or you could have your alias flipped on you by TER management and suffer lord know what embarrassment.

When setting up a date with a provider, you will, of course, need to use your real name (along with you board handle if you wish); but that is an entirely different matter.

If the mods in GD are allowing the circle jerk attacks and aliases which resemble another user's actual handle just for the purpose of mocking him, I'd say there is little worry about ever getting your alias flipped.

I have to agree.  The mods on that board have had ample time to do something if they wished so the logical conclusion is they support attacks.
It is also one reason why I lurk here and post rarely anymore.

I received an e-mail from a poster who implied one of the mods may be part of the attacks but with all the aliases I have no opinion.  If true it would explain why no action has been taken.

skin that is way to thin to be on the boards.  I get attacked by alias all the time.  Can't beat 'em join 'em!
To sit in front of your computer day after daw with a box of kleenex because you feel picked on is just silly.
The Mods on the GD board allow it to take place because many of the alias haters routinely attack them, their method of handling the boards, or just plain whining over the "overt unfairness" dealt them by the mods.
Don't let these guys fool you, they can be just as nasty, and much more childish, but they feel it's OK because they use their "real fake names" instead of a "fake fake name"!

Why would I feel picked upon?  You have no idea who I am and I don't post enough for many people to reply.  Stop trying to psychoanalyze me, you will fail at that.

What I said was the amount of childish bickering behavior on here has grown significantly over the years since I was very active.

Thus I have personally decided it is no longer worth my while to spend much time here.

Your US VS THEM kind of post is an example.  It might be fun for the people on here now.  It is not what I am after on a board.

I find it interesting and a positive sign that Little Phil spoke up, albeit later than I would have liked, and also that a couple interesting discussions followed it.  I think if some posters had that discussion earlier it would have stifle the squabbling that had overtaken the board.

It is always the middle of the road Silent Majority that needs to speak up if the extremists are to be kept under control.  I hope it is a sign of the future here.

Funny how you used an alias to post your message asking about aliases.  You obviously know what an alias is and how to create and use one.
