and it is probably just as well because something like that can really get out of hand.
However, I think there is no problem in attaching an email or PM that is threatening like you mention and letting TER then deal with the malefactor. I think they would appreciate that. Sorry to hear that this is happening to you, and I hope it is something that can get nipped in the bud before you are hurt by it
If she wanted to make a post about a dude who is an asshole who keeps sending her PM/email...no problem. And she should suggest in her post to PM/email her regarding the asshole to anyone interested in the specifics. Outing a member is a bannable offense...and by posting the assholes email addy is simply an outing. Sounds like the old he said/she said routine. @Alyson...shoot me a PM if you want some suggestions on how to work around getting the word out
Use copy and paste. Copy the text of whatever you want people to see, and paste it into your post. As long as you do not include the sender's email address, I see no reason why that should be disallowed. I'd also suggest you not mention his handle in your post. Tell readers they can PM you for his TER handle. That's what I did when a provider NCNS'd me. I told the story of what happened in the post and had several guys PM me for her handle. The guy doing this to you will undoubtedly recognize that you are talking about him, but proving it will be difficult with no names posted.

I don't think you read my post right. In no way did I suggest that the OP mention any handles or email addresses. No way should anything I suggested as violating TER posting rules.
Copying and pasting a PM or email onto a public board has always been against TER rules, even if the handle or URL is redacted. It is most definitely against TER rules and you have been around for plenty long enough to know better.
Including any PMs from TER. The rules say nothing about handles or addresses. It says NO content copied from emails or PMs. How do you not know this??

to see if posting could be allowed as long as the particular member is not identified in the post. I think that is somewhat implicit in the rule, though not very clear.
In any case, I think it would probably be OK if in stead of copying and pasting, a quote from a PM or email could be posted as that is not exactly the same as copied content, at least as I read it. I should further clarify that in my post above, I meant to say that the emails or PMs could be sent to TER Administration as proof that someone is coercing or otherwise misbehaving. I think we all agree that is OK with TER
