Provider websites

At the risk of treading on toes, I want to offer an insight on my personal preferences on provider websites.

I like them straight-forward & simple -- no bells, whistles, music, flash applets, etc etc.  For me, the website is an information source to help me with my selection.  I don't need (or want) it to be a technological marvel that will entertain me. And sites that have all those features tend to load more slowly.

I look for:
--a brief bio/description of the provider (likes/dislikes, do/don'ts, etc).
-- Vital stats
-- rates
--location/availability/schedule
-- gallery >> paramount for me -- good pics (pref face pics, though that seems more prevalent in Europe than in the US)

An example of a site that I don't like is:

Now I don't mean to pick on ... just giving an example.

My guess is that it costs more to have a flashy site.   So IMHO, save your money & go simple & classy.   That's my 2 cents.

Sorry to piss in your cereal. This board is for opinions.  Some new provider could benefit from my feedback, alias or not.

Your response tells us exactly "What the world is coming to"

...that "new providers" should listen to your amazing insight?  maybe your a newbie yourself , why the alias?

and i personally think you ARE trying to pick on a specific provider hence linking her sight.

so not cool.

a lot of guys don't like them, I'm fine with the template websites. If a lady puts a little effort into one of these sites, everything I need to know is right there.

However, I have run across a few ladies' sites that absolutely floored me. These are the ones that I will go back and visit every now and then just to see what's new. Some ladies put a tremendous amount of effort into their sites, and some are extremely entertaining. My absolute favorite is Beverly Fisher's site.

always changing, and always entertaining. I've always loved her "slut rants".

My opinion does not "hold weight" ... in the business world it is called feedback... some benefit from feedback & solicit it thru polls & surveys.

Why the alias you ask?  Why the hell not ... who died & made you the alias police?  TER has allowed that privilege so I am using it.  I don't need your permission.

And the word is "site" not "sight".

If you don't like my post, you know what you can do with it ...

I think you were trying to malign a specific provider with your including her link and just scared to do it under your real handle.

Maybe you're really a provider that's in competition with this lady and trying to bring negative attention to her. How are we, the viewer to know what your intention REALLY is. Using an alias on a subject such as, should provider sites be flashy or not flashy is not really a "touchy" or "sensitive" subject but yet you felt like you needed to hide your real identity.

no nerve, i just call bullshit when i see it.

I didn't want my last act as a mod to be moderating someone, but there you go - you can't always get what you wish.

Yeah, yeah, I’m telling my age again!  For those of you in my age bracket, Dragnet was a great show, wasn't it?  They don't make them like that any more.

But to address Mr. Hump’s opinion, it is always good to get feedback from individuals the appeal, or lack thereof, regarding our websites--the good, the bad and the ugly.  Your expressed opinions may indeed invoke the ire from many providers.  I wouldn’t doubt that by the time I am done typing this and it is posted, more than one provider is going to put you on blast with their anger.

Please remember we providers are “individuals” and should be allowed some form of poetic license or deliberate deviation from the norm in choosing to advertise in a manner that helps set us apart from the masses.   Too many websites that I viewed prior to setting up my own were so much the same, even down to the use of the same words and phrases that if it were not for the different photographs within their galleries, you would think they were all the same person.  This advertising model works for a lot of people because for some guys, it is not a big deal and provides all they need.  The templates that are available to providers are wonderful options. I guess they are called "cookie-cutter." They are not only economical for many, but is an option that works for many, and allows a simple “Just the facts ma’m” approach to advertising.

Yes, some designs are over the top, are hard to navigate,  and can use a little retooling now and then, but they still get their point across, “I have it to sell, are you buying?”  By the way, I did tone down this last sentence. There was another word for "it." Meow!!

Now I am by no means speaking for other providers, but am speaking for myself.  My goals for my website was to attract a select number of men who might appreciate a little creativity from the wording of my bio, my choice not to touch up my photographs, as well as my choice to utilize a little flash to represent who “I” am.  I am neither a “color by numbers” nor  a “color within the lines” kinda of girl, and I believe many providers also are similar in my way of thinking.  I had to desensitize myself when I came out from under the radar and recognized that  because of my maturity, race, or even my choice of website design, I was not going to attract or appeal to the masses.  But that’s okay.  Again my goal was to attract those few select men that know where I’m coming from as an individual.

I hope this leads to other providers to providing insight into their decision making in their choice of website design.

less important than good reviews.

Several of the ladies I have seen didn't have a site, they just had ad pages, and review histories.

And I have seen misleading sites with out of date pics.

I would say the most helpful thing is a table of rates for longer dates, and couples info.

I already know that I should be on time, clean, not drunk, polite, etc.

Just MHO

Is it just me, or is that damn hard to read against a primarily blue background? Other than that, it's very good.

That's great feedback because on my PC the background is black with the type either green or blue.  So I needed to know that other's PCs may have different color settings that need to be taken into consideration.

Thank you!!

Whether it's custom or canned, it just says to me the lady is more serious than another escort who places an ad with just a ph#.  Of course great reviews are the most important part of my decision making process.

Thanks for your $.02 anyway!

New providers - do whatever you want with your website.

As my Sensei would say:  3 pictures, an email address and a rate is sufficient.
OR if you decide that you would like for your website to be a complete expression of yourself - choose whatever you feel will represent you best.
Ultimately, your service sells your service.
Obnoxious, flashy, loud aside- a client is interested in the woman behind the website more than the site itself.

... is that a provider should do whatever floats her boat with her website; completely free of any constraints/restraints etc.

This allows a provider to show what SHE wants to show to present herself to the world. It's HER business -- let her market it as she sees fit.

Not only do clients have "profiles" of what is important to them in a provider; but providers have profiles of who they want as a client. Their website, in many subtle and not-so-subtle ways, ideally serves to attract the preferred clients and maybe even repel the not-preferred clients.

This helps establish an environment in which provider and client alike work better together in the long run. Better satisfaction rates are the result.

Any interference with this process through the imposition of an outside template of what "ought" to be on a site -- can be detrimental.

So my general view is that providers should do whatever they please.

No doubt, in some cases -- because not all providers are super-good at defining and targeting markets or even know much about web work -- this can be temporarily detrimental. But even in these cases, feedback mechanisms take hold and the process becomes more refined shortly.

So -- if you are a provider, do whatever you want.
