My job puts me in a position where I might offer my services to a provider.  Would it be appropriate to offer an exchange of services?

These posts come up occasionally, and sometimes even survive moderation, but the rule seems to be pretty well enforced these days.

If you are talking about offering your business services to a provider (instead of cash) in exchange for "her time", I think that would be up to the individual provider. I wouldnt post anything here though. Contact the provider and tell her what you have to offer. I think its up to her if its something she wishes to accept.

will post something on the local board about needing new photos, work done on her car, etc.

indicates she may barter for certain services... I have seen provider websites where she indicates she would barter for professional photographer, electricians etc.
