Is it bad to do in search of posts in the region sectionb instead of the in search of section. I can't travel but am looking for something specific and figure the regional boards would better zero in on what I want.

And, you're right, it probably is a better way to zero in. Though double posting is usually not a good idea, it might be ok in this case to post in both places.
