*Moderators on TER are all volunteers and are not paid.  We do this because it's fun and interesting.  Part of the fun for some of us is getting a little inside look at what goes on behind the scenes.  :-)

Girl, you're a sweetheart...but the statement after the asterisk goes a long way to explain why there are only 4 moderators left to do 29 boards. :(

I've heard the official explanation but I just don't buy it!

The moderator's main job is screening moderated messages posted on the board(s). A moderator has the authority to grant unmoderated status and to take that privilege away when warranted. A good moderator also stimulates posting traffic when appropriate by occasionally interacting with the board community. You must be fair and consistent with the community. Perhaps the most demanding responsibility is that you become the "face of TER" in your community. When questions are asked/contraversies raised, you must make sure that the questions are answered either by making Staff aware of the post or by doing your best to guide the poster to the answer. Ultimately, it is a job, a volunteer job which will remain a volunteer job as long as there are takers, but a JOB none the less. ;)

My last day as a TER moderator will be Sunday, April 4th. It was fun but I’m through “volunteering” my time. Please don’t turn this into a ‘We love you thirsty…we want to have your baby!’ thread. That makes me uncomfortable, especially when it comes from the guys. ;)

Take care,

Jim

You've been a great help to me and to TER, and you will be missed.  However, I do hope to see you around on the boards still.  :-)

I am looking for someone who:

--  Is currently a VIP member

--  Who can log in and check the board at least three times a day

--  Who has a posting and/or review history here on TER

--  Who can be even-handed and not let their own biases interfere with their ability to be fair

If you fit these criteria and are interested in joining TER's team of volunteer* moderators, please PM me.  Include the name of the board you would like to moderate in your PM.  We have several openings.

I guess now I can understand why I never get any of my questions answered from TER staff.  I can also never get my postings added to the board for when I am visiting a certain area.  It's too bad and very frustrating.  TER needs more help!!!!!!

maybe i  could it for a time

I'll do Vancouver if I get to be a member.

Thanks thirsty but Im done having kids. HAHa. Your work here has been appreciated, perhaps more then you know :)Good luck in all you do and enjoy your extra free time.
