I have a very busy schedule and if I set aside time to meet with someone, shifting appointments around, or cutting out of work early to make an appointment, loading the next day with more work and I get stood up, I am highly motivated to share this info. Its one thing to cancel, Ive done it and had providers do it, but the most recent cancellation, the provider contacted me via E mail and simply stated she had too many cancellations to make the trip to my city. Okay...cool.
If I cant make it, I always give them a heads up as to not tarnish my reputation. But if I am showered and ready to go and never receive any text, or E mail letting me know anything and the appointment time passes and I am left at home, instead of going out and meeting friends, or worse, passing up a Saturday at the lake on my boat so I could slip an appointment in under the radar of my friends, yeah, Im kinda pissed. There is simply no excuse not to send a short text that takes less than 1 minute to do, when it is in regards to your business and a client who you have set an appointment with. I am a business owner myself and have been in sales for years before that. Totally blowing someone off is just something you dont do, if you care at all about your business and your word.
It seems comical to me that a provider would get upset and start slamming a client for posting a NCNS report on someone when THEY are the ones that decided you were not important enough to send a cancellation text to. If you dont want to deal with that kind of stuff, dont blow people off and just let them know you cant make it. That is a lot easier than the latter.
