I've had a couple of providers flake over the years, and never figured out if there's a way to say that here. I'm guessing a review that says only that is rejected since I have never seen one, and it's not really a scam so reporting on the scams board seems wrong (and a likely path to retaliation).

I still think it'd be really useful info for other folks and wonder if I'm overlooking some way to flag it.

if no meeting took place between you and the provider, you can't post a review.  You can post on your regional board that a provider flaked on you, leave out her name, and tell guys to PM you for details.  I suppose you can indicate her general location without being specific.  It's unfortunate, but it happens all the time both to clients and providers.  We just hope it doesn't happen to us.  I've had it happen a couple times to me.

In fact, naming her is encouraged. He should also link to her ad and or TER profile so everyone knows who he is talking about. It doesn't have to be left to PM's only.

You're right, but I said that to help him avoid retaliation from the provider.

Tell the truth if she starts harrassing him, post that too. Shame the lady publicaly, why is it okay to expose a certain slug for sluggish behavior but not the ladies? IMO fair exchange is no robbery. I'm not for the back and forth but I bet that will shut her calls down quick. She will be so enthralled with being exposed and cleaning that mess she won't have time to harras you. If she responds let her, at least it keeps her busy from bothering you right? Also saves other guys from this crap as well as starts to clean the system.

Unless and until we all put on big boy / girl panties and do our parts to make it what it should be, we will always have review warriors, revenge reviews, back channel chitter chatter that's totally opposite of our publicly stated truths and opinions. That's so high school.

What better way to stop the review rampages than a simple:

Hey Jane Hoe,
I wrote what I thought and felt of my experience, can you please stop harrassing me to change it? I don't want anymore calls, texts or mails, you are now on ignore.

Have a good future,
Harassed former client.

Added color. This happened most recently with a very well reviewed provider.  I'm not inclined to make a big deal about it, because stuff does happen, but I do have to wonder how many times this has happened to other dudes... and I think it's pretty stupid that we can't file a NCNS note.  If it is a one-off, no big deal, but for all I know she does this half the time and nobody has any way to note it.  If I saw a NCNS counter at 50, that'd be damn valuable information.

Absolutely.  This happened two weeks ago to me, and I did not want to report it, if it was a one-of.  She claimed she had a sudden "life" issue, that prevented her from showing up or even contacting me.  I am 90% convinced it was complete bull shit, but she has an outstanding reputation, that I didn't want to tarnish unless I was sure.  But I was damn tempted due to the hassle and travel plan changes I put myself through to meet her.  She asked to be given another chance, and I told her no, which means I will never know if this was a one-of, and the community will never know if she pulls this crap all the time.

TER really needs this counter idea or something like it, if it cares about the people who pay the bills here.

I have a very busy schedule and if I set aside time to meet with someone, shifting appointments around, or cutting out of work early to make an appointment, loading the next day with more work and I get stood up, I am highly motivated to share this info. Its one thing to cancel, Ive done it and had providers do it, but the most recent cancellation, the provider contacted me via E mail and simply stated she had too many cancellations to make the trip to my city. Okay...cool.

If I cant make it, I always give them a heads up as to not tarnish my reputation. But if I am showered and ready to go and never receive any text, or E mail letting me know anything and the appointment time passes and I am left at home, instead of going out and meeting friends, or worse, passing up a Saturday at the lake on my boat so I could slip an appointment in under the radar of my friends, yeah, Im kinda pissed. There is simply no excuse not to send a short text that takes less than 1 minute to do, when it is in regards to your business and a client who you have set an appointment with. I am a business owner myself and have been in sales for years before that. Totally blowing someone off is just something you dont do, if you care at all about your business and your word.

It seems comical to me that a provider would get upset and start slamming a client for posting a NCNS report on someone when THEY are the ones that decided you were not important enough to send a cancellation text to. If you dont want to deal with that kind of stuff, dont blow people off and just let them know you cant make it. That is a lot easier than the latter.

I am in 100% agreement with this post. TER needs to find a way to let people know if this is a common occurrence with some providers. My whole day is shot today, because of a NCNS with a well reviewed provider in my city. I rearranged my schedule for the appointment I had set up through a verification site a week ago. I know by logging into the verification site this morning, to be sure I did not miss a message, she was logged in at 3am and we were set up to meet this morning at 10am. If you cant even take 60 seconds to send a PM while you're on the verification site the night before to cancel an appointment, regardless of the reason, that is on her and I have no regrets to put it out there for everyone to see. I was blown off plain and simple. Her reviews would be a lot lower if people knew she pulls this kind of stuff and I just wonder who else was stood up like me? maybe the guy paid for a hotel, or simply has no time to set up another appointment with another provider while he has the window to play, which is the boat Im in right now.

If all the TER reviews only show the good stuff, or what happens when a provider decides not to blow you off, Id say there is a big problem with the way that TER shows the credibility of a provider to its paying members who reply on the site to avoid rip offs and flaky providers. Maybe this is common with her. I sure wish I would have known it...I would have booked with someone else.

It is possible her screening/booking assistant was logged in, and not the provider herself. Sorry this happened to you, I've been there and suffered the snowball effect of the whole day coming undone due to a ncns or last-moment cancellation.

I cannot figure out why her "reviews would be a lot lower" if there were a distinct pattern to ncns'ing clients; assuming she provides quality sessions when she meets with clients then the reviews would reflect that honestly, it seems to me...

A provider known to flake will suffer the consequences in reputation- sooner or later it will be known, however her reviews are not going to suffer unless her quality of service is suffering.

Peace,

Astrid

As unprofessional as not contacting you with an explanation was, giving the provider a chance to explain herself is a considerate and safe way to go about this. By contacting her, you let her know you are not angry or threatening (depending on the girl and her reputation she may have just figured you were mad and wouldn't see her again anyway so it was a lost cause) and give the provider the opportunity to explain and save face. If you don't receive an explanation or an genuine response, then its appropriate to go about letting TER know about your experience.

Best of luck and remember to read both reviews and check in on the reviewer's history and experience.
