Nothing is more attractive to a provider

than a client who harbors a latent prejudgment that she is a walking petri dish of communicable disease and parasites.

Once the providers feminine "sixth sense" has detected your preconceived prejudices you may stand assured that your mileage (YMMV) will equal that of a Hummer2 with it's 4wheel drive engaged.

if the provider is clean and has no STD's?  I had some defensive reactions, as well as, plain shock that I even ask such a question.

you feel if she asked you the same question?

I steer clear of providers who actually put this on their websites... it should be a given.  But what many clients fail to realize is that they too have a responsibility to check their own status.

While I never say anything, I get tested on average four times a years when being active in the hobby... for my own peace of mind - it has the added benefit of knowing I am not passing something around when I see my ATF every month.

I'm unclear as to why that would be such a bad question, if put in a polite way.  Seems anyone with multiple partners is quite possible to have something.  I'll plead ignorance here, but are most providers really clean?  Serious question.
Do clients really assume they are clean without asking some delicate questions?

Or a Doctor a quack?
Or a mechanic a hack?

Your concerns are valid; however raising them will only garner indignation from the conscientious, or lies from the others.

I thnk this is a pointless question to ask.

If she is irresponsible enough to work when she has an STD do you think for one second she'll care enough about your health to tell you the truth?

Yes, I can realistically see a provider giving the following response to your question...

"Hi there, thanks so much for asking about my STD status. Currently I am being treated for vaginitis and a recurrent yeast infection. Additionally, I am Hep C positive, and have two strains of the HPV virus, which causes genital warts. But don't worry, I always use a condom. Well, almost always. I usually tell guys that I always use a condom that way they'll offer me extra $$$ to go au natural. But that's our little secret, ok? Anyways, I'm glad you asked me about my STD status now, because I accidentally took a truth serum, so for once I actually have to admit I had an STD. Otherwise, I would have simply lied since it is so embarrassing - Sincerely, Annie-bi Autic"

Does that answer your question? No, its not out of line, but if you honestly expect a woman to be honest if she does have an STD, well, I expect honesty from politicians, and I still believe in the Tooth Fairy, so we are both dreamers of sorts :o)
