If I see a hobbyist has reviewed lots of providers but has few or no provider referrals on their white list is that a red flag? I am trying to check out a provider who has a few reviews by cross referencing her reviewers history.

Most of the time, hobbyists have to ask the provider if she will give them a WL referral, it's not an automatic thing.  If they don't ask, they may not get one.  Not all providers will give referrals either.

If the provider has plenty of reviews from guys with lengthy reviewing histories, that's enough to insure that she is probably a safe one to see.

don't assume because a hobbyists has a lot of reviews and no white listing, that it's a red flag. The hobbyists simply could have opted out from showing his white list

My personal opinion is that not 1 provider felt he was a true gent & wanted to vouch for him, so I will inquire as to why no whitelists, but so many reviews...

Often times I look at a guy's list of reviews and see no WL refs.  Have to admit, I sometimes wonder why he has none, but since I'm not a provider, I don't pursue it.  Reasons are endless, as you know.

I agree. Why would someone hide them?
