Unless I had seen her several previously, and was planning something like a weekend trip with her, there is no way I am sending any money ahead of time. Not to put too fine a point on it, but the envelope comes out of my pants right before "Little Elvis" does...

Most providers, if they are quality ladies, will not expect a deposit, unless it's for an extended visit, like a weekend or more.  If it is a date costing several K dollars, she may want a deposit of good faith.  How it is to be handled varies from provider to provider.   Personally, I would not see someone who wanted a deposit, and many other guys will tell you same thing.  Question is, is she really worth you giving her some $ before you even meet her??????  Not for me.

It doesn't, don't do it. There are plenty of great ladies out there who work on the cash and carry model.  Deposits complicate things and this is not an endeavor that needs complications.

But with two gals, it was a disaster, so my recommendation is that unless you are balls to the wall wanting to see someone, and they won't come unless you pony up a deposit, then don't do it.

For longer engagements I think it's fair - but it's someone you've got to have history with because there is obviously a certain amount of trust involved. It has backfired on me - big time...

which was a pain.  Never again unless it was for an overnighter or weekend date as said elsewhere.

Mainly because there is no way in hell I would ever do it. lol

Reviews, or not, still not going to happen. If transportation is an issue, I would consider prepaying her ticket, but only on a credit card where it could not be converted into cash. I she objects because you would need her "real" name, I would counter that she wants my "real" cash. lol

As the others have correctly indicated, this activity is "cash on delivery!"   You discreetly leave the "donation" on a table soon after arrival.
If she has a deposit, she has got your money and done no work...  nothing for it.  Why would she complete the transaction?  She can just scam some other dude and not meet him either!
The only time deposits should be considered is if the meeting involves an extended booking like an overnight or travel.  A few will do those with people they've not met but it's much safer with someone you have enjoyed for shorter visits & want to book something extra-ordinary...  and have worked out all the details of such an adventure.

Or well reviewed independent that reviewers state took deposits and showed up, don't send money. The most probable outcome is that you will never see the money or the provider again.

If I am traveling more than 2hrs away from my home I require a deposit. Why? The 2 times I didn't require a deposit I was stood up or shorted. Now it can happen the other way around as well.
Here's an easy test. If she is well known with more than 5reviews, has been escorting longer than 1year, and requires the deposit to be able to be traced(paypal for example...NO western union) then it is safe. Now if some BP gal with no reviews is wanting you to send a deposit by western union then RUN! When it comes to agencies I can't offer any advice as I'm speaking from an indie POV

The only time a deposit should be necessary is long-term meetings(overnights or 5+hours)or when she is traveling a great distance to you.

There are several instances on this board where people have prepaid with well known providers and it's turned into a ROB report. Just search and you'll understand why it's not a good thing.

I would be careful about making deposits, as it can lead to disaster if you don't trust and know the lady in question.  I do have experience with deposits and advances, and with one exception, it has worked without problems.  The one exception...has made it impossible that I would ever lend money to a provider again, and I denied my primary ATF earlier this year after getting burned by my other ATF that we both knew.  She didn't like it, but understood my position that getting burned twice was not an option...I don't want to lose two friends.  It is unlikely my ATF would have burned me, but,  fool me once, shame on you: fool me twice, shame on me!

I am a provider and I have most prepay 100% on a cc to meet me.   Neither one of us has ever had a problem.  I am not a scammer but many men will book a date and cancel at the last moment, this polilcy  prevents me from having a ruined evening you can read my ad on eros, new orleans ,Alina.

Grand or two that you send as deposit for overnight / multi day date does not represent even 10 percent of well reputed established provider's income.

Now, if you were sending enough for her to retire for the rest of her life .. may be :)

I am not an experience provider but I do have one client that is out of state.
I require a deposit for my travel. I'm not going to cross the state line on my own dollar and should he cancel on me at least I came out with something for my 4+ hours of travel time.

Trust is the key here. If the provider is a true professional you should have no problem with this.
