Well, just starting the hobby. Found a provider I'd like to try, and she is on TER (as well as p411 and datecheck) I  have  burn phone, and a gmail addy, so no problems there. She is asking for first and last name, an d zip code. SHe also says she may later need additional info for screening. Is this standard? Do I give real name, or pseudonym? I have been searching this site, and the theme I have found is to go to p411. If I do that, should I just telll her I am on p411, and expect her to take that?  I'd like to get both perspectives- hobbbyist and provider..

You are going to get your ass lit up for asking this here, reportthe post yourself and have it removed.  Just copy the text first and repost under Newbie Board and you will get some great, helpful responses

even if you were p411 you really have no history no refs no way to verify you.

Im afraid you may have to give it up to someone just to get your foot in the door.
If you gave me a fake name I would not let you see anyone I would also feel you have something to hide

to make sure youare who you say you are  
Also so I can have a refs make sure you are safe.

Hiding behind an alias is fishy. You have no refs to back you up.once you have seen providers you can build a reputation but at this moment in time no refs no connection to this hobby what so ever you are a stranger and you will have to give up the goods to someone.

The folks on this board will not be as patient in answering newbie questions.  That said, most guys would say do not give your full name.  I'm usually not willing to do that, though I have made exceptions with well-known providers.  It's her right to ask and yours to refuse.
If I were you I'd start out by seeing P411 providers in your area who are listed as "Newbie Friendly." Get OKs from a couple of them after you've seen them and you should be able to see almost anybody.  It worked for me.

If you don't have references or P411, then personal info is needed.  

You need to be verifiable one way or another.  Without any info, I'm not seeing you.  There are no exceptions.  

If you lie about being on P411 (as in, you can't give me your ID) or if you try to deceive me, we will never meet, and I will warn other providers about your dishonesty.

Every provider requires their own personal screening methods if you do not want to be honest & lie about your name I am sure someone will not care & see you, but I doubt any reputable, top rated TER provider will.

thanks for the helful info, and sorry I asked in the wrong forum-newbie mistake.

Just glad that you got the hell off the General Discussion Board before people started taking head shots at ya....generally speaking people don't play nice there.  Although it is much calmer than usual today, so some of the regulars there may have been placed on "time out" by TER again.
