Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to inform my friends and fans that my email account was hacked yesterday.  I started getting calls about this early in the morning and it has been the center of attention for the last two days.  Aparently, this person who hacked into my account had sent out emails to everyone in my contact list saying that I was mugged in London for my cash and credit cards and the hotel manager was holding me tilll I paid up the bill.  A few friends of mine responded just to see what their response would be.  They emailed back with an address to wire the money.  My best friend then googled the address and it goes to a check cashing place in London.  Not only did they defraud my excellant reputation but I am worried that they stole my contact list in my email account and are using a yahoo account to continue their scam.  I Know most people could tell that this would be a scam but I hope that no one actually fell into it.  You know how they say "We American's are dumb" but "We are not stupid!  Since then I've changed my password and my emails are coming in.  But, I just decided to make a new email account with gmail  That address is [email protected].  If you received any strange messages please call me first 702 596-0102 and then forward me that email.  I would never ask a client for money because my rule is not to disturb my client's personal life. I enjoy the time we share with no strings attached and would never want to lose any because of this scam.  I'm working hard with AOL to help resolve any future issues but they seem to be secret agents too.  So, whom ever read this.  Be careful and if you had a similar experience please feel free to call me  and forward me that email so we can compare notes and try to stop this exploiting.

Thank you,

A friend had this exact same thing happen to him a few years ago. Only it was his brother that was stuck in a London hotel.  He called the poice in london and told them what was happening and they checked on it and got back to him right away.   I hope things work out for you

Luckily, most of my friends do not travel abroad so there is a simple option--hit "delete".  If I think it could be remotely true, I respond back to my friend using "forward" and entering their email address from my address book rather than hittng "reply".

Always beware of cyber scams.

I toyed with the scammers until I grew tired of the game.  Technically the accounts are not "Hacked" computer geeks call it "cracked".  Happened to Sarah Palin.  They use readily available information to use your forgotten password tool to get in.  Most accounts won't let you make up your own security question...  My suggestion is to morph a security question and use a wrong answer.
Good luck,
H

Well, if you never forget your password, you'll never need to recover it.  What I do is I have an old school file card box on my desk at home.  I wrote the security question I morphed and what I morphed it into.  I then know the correct answer from memory so the file card info would do no good to anyone else.
Anyone trying to use my personal information will give the wrong answer as well.
