I think the last major meet and greet in San Diego was in October around Halloween.
It was hosted by Chloe Wilde and Roxanne Trump.

As far as getting invited, I believe you just have to contact the hostesses or hosts and submit verification info. If and once you are cleared, they'll give you information about the location a few nights before the event.

I've never been to a M&G, so I'm not sure what to expect either.
From what I read, it's usually in a rented venue with music, food, and dancing.
You basically meet the different attendees, both hobbyists and providers, and see if you connect with them.
Then you can make the decision to book a future appointment based on who you meet and if you two have chemistry.

I suppose the purpose of M&G's are to be fun and to establish a sense of community in the hobby world.

I've been to a number of them. They are advertised on the national M&G board. They are open to all hobbyists and escorts. The announcement of the M&G will give you the instructions on how to get an invitation.  Basically you will be screened just like if you were setting up a date with a provider.

To correct a previous post, the location is a well guarded  secret and given out the morning of the M&G, not days in advance. I've also been to M&G s held in restuarants/bars that were still open to the public while the M&G was going. Since you live in San Diego go to the LA M&G, a number of San Diego based providers were at the recent LA M&G. Once you've been approved and attended a M&G, the host will normally add you to the email list for future M&Gs and all you'll need is to reply to the email invite.  Finally, if you are approved and then decide not to attend, contact the host and tell them you can't go, hosts do not like "no shows" at their M&Gs
