sitting in the HOTEL parking lot for so long. More than a minute is too long. Hotel personnel tend to get a little jumpy - and providers even more so. Next time you're that early, go find a coffee shop to pass the time in or a bookstore to browse in until it's time for you to call her for the room number.
Surest way to get the provider and yourself in trouble is to lurk in a parking lot!
after a long hiatus from the hobby, I scheduled my big comeback this evening and instead had a major disappointment. I drove 100 miles to the city for my appointment, got a haircut, worked out in a local gym, showered and was at my appointment 45 minutes early, sitting in my car in the hotel parking lot, waiting til 5 minutes to h hour to make the call and get the room #. My provider calls me instead and cancels. She had a reason, something to do with a late client still in the room, but I was too heartsick to hear the explanation.
The logistics for me to make the 100 mile trek to a nearby city are not trivial and usually involve taking time off from work, making up elaborate stories for my wife, and ancellerary costs like gas, tolls and drive time.
I am not angry, just discouraged. At least she was courteous enough to call 45 minutes in advance and had I been local it would have saved some commute time. Perhaps I should discuss my scheduling and logistics concerns in more detail with providers before meeting them in the future.
Rant over, thanks for listening.

as a practical matter, I was in the parking lot less then 5 minutes total. Your perspective is noted, and next time I am early I will avoid the hotel....However the point of my original post changes little if I am in another parking lot when I get cancelled.

In my car I can talk on my phone in privacy, listen to podcasts/audiobooks, sing, browse the internet with my laptop/smartphone etc... These days people are often seen in their cars alone for these reasons. I don't see it as a big deal anymore. Maybe 20 years ago, before cell phones, it would look suspicious, but not today IMO..
for you and the provider is always an issue. It matters if it's more than a few minutes in a HOTEL parking lot. The hotel personnel expect you to either get out of your car and get checked into your room, or turn your car on and go elsewhere. Yes, you can do all the things you said, but it doesn't engender a feeling of discretion (or safety) in HOTEL (motel) parking lots.
And yes, it still looks suspicious if you sit too long in your car doing any of those things.
There's no law against displaying an I BRAKE FOR HOOKERS bumper sticker, either. If you think you'll be parked for more than a few minutes, it's smart to do it in a different lot from where you will be breaking the law.
In a hobby where discretion is everything. I also typically drive a long way. I find the location then withdraw to a coffee shop, calculating the necessary return time. Fav ladies know I make the call from the coffee lot. (Once, I had a lady ask where I was... because she couldn't see me.) By then I was turning into the lot.)
I have encountered security & local PD in hotel parking lots. It was explained to me that LE was asked to patrol because of thefts from guests autos. So loitering is NOT a good idea. Not only does it draw attention to you but to her.
45 minutes before your session? That is NOT being courteous.
She let the john before you stay extra time. That was very unprofessional of her.
Find another provider is the best advice I can you.
Sitting in a hotel parking lot for 45 minutes is not a good idea. Security may become suspicious.
That really is a shame. Don't know exactly where you are, but isn't there somewhere closer to find a good provider? And, yes, I do agree it would have been wiser to share your logistical challenges in advance with the gal in question.

The provider is taking some risks by seeing you, i.e booking the hotel , blocking off her time, arranging the baby sitter, getting dressed up etc.. So you have to also take some risks of driving there with the chance it may all fall through last minute. You can try and communicate your logistical challenge, but some providers really won't understand. It is frankly your problem, not theirs. And you will likely find yourself in a sticky situation where miss-communication will lead to an awful session, i.e you said you would be there at 4, but she thinks you will be there at 3. This will lead to an awful session where you won't get any pop! So $$$$ down the drain. Better to keep things simple IMO!

Where I live there aren't any providers closer than 45 minutes from me. I often have to drive nearly 100 miles to their incall. I always confirm last thing before heading in their direction, which underscores for them the importance of keeping the appointment. I don't leave any earlier than necessary, and I keep numbers for a Plan B or C in reserve.
It sounds like you placed way too much of a time commitment on the whim of a single, flaky provider. How come a client who was with her kept her from keeping an appt. in 45 freakin minutes?!? It makes no sense.
But your logistical challenges are probably not going to a provider, at least not until she becomes a regular. Are there any options closer to home?
Also, to echo the sentiments of others, hanging out in the hotel parking lot is not a good idea. You never know who is watching including the lady herself. Something may have spooked her or she may have legitimately had a guy who wanted more time-more likely the later case...
It's always good to have a plan B. Maybe a local agency?
1) dont hang around the hotel: lobby, parking lot or or bar
2) donk sked the last appointment of the day with a high-volume provider....schedule conflicts may have been a blessing in this case
3) dont get too invested in any appointment, too many things can and will go wrong.
thanks all
