Optimal number of reviews to have before your not considered a newbie? A friend of mine says she has been working several years but she only has about 10 reviews.

It has very little to do with how many reviews you have and so much to do with how your handle yourself.  If you comport yourself in a professional manner, run your business well, and start to establish a good reputation in this "community" you are well on your way to not being a newb.

i believe you need at least 3 to join the PO board..if that is good enough for TER and your peers..it is good enough for me..

there is no set number.  Does it matter whether or not you are considered a newbie?  Many of us who have been here a while still admit to learning stuff all the time, myself included.  It's possible your friend's lack of reviews is based on who she sees as clients.  Not every guy that hobbies is a TER member, and thus will not be reviewing her.   Also, some guys just don't write reviews.  So tell your friend not to worry.  If she has been working a while and providers quality service, she doesn't have to think of herself as a newbie.

A lot of funny and helpful discussions take place over there, though most guys think all we do is have lingerie clad pillow fights!

Not everyone will review a provider, and I for 1 do not get many reviews.

It's not whether he's reviewed numerous gals but rather the quality of the other gals he's reviewed.
Lets face it, guys could toss up a review every day for BP only gals whom don't stay on too of their game therefore lessening the validity of said review.  
Few reviews from quality reviewers goes a lot further than many reviews from keen krawlers....jus sayin
