Just raised rates...

As a person who has rates that just skyrocketed, I say it happened because I gained experience and clout... For me, granddaddies got granddaddy-ed in. LOL. I even grandfathered in just plain daddies! (bachelors rates stayed erect. j/k.)
Women have to raise prices to stay contemporary with their services.

I am kind of curious about this. I've noticed two providers in my area have nearly increased their rates 50%. Basically went from like 400 to like 600 dollars. How often does this typically occur? (Provider's raising rates) Do regulars get grandfathered in? Or is it something people just deal with?

Hey Juggs,

I SERIOUSLY thought about it!!!! I was a step away! Then I decided to go it alone. I think/hope/pray I can stay independent. Also, the agencies I wanted didn't want me. LOL. Only the agencies that I saw as scams kept calling! Borg. Such is life.
Doesn't mean I shouldn't charge the same as the agencies... I have to do the same amount of work!

Thanks for following,
KK

I think she suggested you increase them 20% every six months if you are booked up (round up to the nearest $50 or $100 per hour, of course). Grandfather in regulars for the first visit or two, then gently suggest they need to pay the new rates and if they refuse, move on. The idea being that you are booked solid anyway, and most likely have others willing to pay the new rates, otherwise you need to revisit your marketing and delivery of services.

As a hobbyist, I cannot say I am thrilled by this, but it makes sense and if you are doing a good job, getting clients, you should charge what you can.

This is a fairly simple formula that the gals use to determine what they want to charge.  If she is "busy" and earning what she likes she will hold rates steady (from whatever number she started at).

But if she is getting more business than she can handle (at her current rate), she will raise her rates to another higher number.  If her business is now steady at this number, she will hold there.

But if business is "slow", you will see "specials" being run.  And if that isn't doing the trick (pun intended), she will then lower her rates again.

Each provider has her goals in mind, and more often it has little (if anything) to do with her "competition".  She knows what she is looking to make, and will adjust accordingly.

As far as being "grandfathered in", if she doesn't offer you that, you don't have to see her.  Really quite simple.  Or just ask her to accomodate you at the "lower" rates.  Just remember, she is seeing you vs a 'john" that will pay her higher rates.  Hopefully she will give you the same services you are expecting.

Very interesting topic and discussion but I'm using an alias to try to avoid being flamed to a crisp ... from both sides!

Google "Freakonomics prostitute Chicago" for the Levitt and Dubner discussion of the economics of high end escorting. That is just THEIR analysis.

Another test of everybody's favorite theory could occur eBay-style. Since there's no way eBay would allow escort listings, maybe TER could make a TER-Bay, strictly for research and entertainment purposes, of course. Using the forums, bids would be open, not secret. I have a feeling that a lot of the very high priced girls ("minimum bid" = $1000) wouldn't get much movement but that opening bids $250 or $300 would get intense.

..... different circumstances. Some providers start out with lower rates and get a feel for the business and gain more regular clients etc and they feel they can do so. Some do it for more exclusivity etc.  I've seen it happen a lot lately myself. 9 times out of 10 ladies will grandfather most or all previous clients or at least ones they consider regulars.

It can also depend on the economy.. although it's not back to normal, it's better than it was 3 years ago. I recently raised my incall rates, because the place I use, raised their rates...
