Especially after seeing some of the stuff that makes the cut.  This example is scary on so many levels, aside from the reasons that you pointed out.

Gals, this is a perfect example of how not to post on TER:

1) THIS IS NOT CRAIGSLIST, WE DON'T APPRECIATE ALL CAPS HERE.

2) Ads aren't allowed on the newbie board.

3) Always carefully review what you write before you hit the post message button (how much is 1 hour outcall FS?).  This is particularly true if you are moderated.  Remember, you only have 24 hrs to edit your message once it has been added to the database, and the time it sits waiting for the moderator to approve it counts.

I guess along with never learning basic spelling, grammar and punctuation while in school; the commonsensical practice of proofreading also eluded many Craigslist alumni.

The differences in generational speaking habits is quite stunning.  My 40 year old daughter is "normal" in her speech, diction and has no real slang usage that I can detect that's out of the ordinary.

My 33 year old daughter (and mostly raised in CA)? That's different:  "she's like, he's like, you know, she's sorta like, like, like that guy who's like, you know, on that show!"   :-)    Now this kid is smart - she's a RN and makes good money and is a great nurse.  But how she got to be valley girl in N. CA I don't know.

My son (2nd marriage) is 19, very quiet, went to Christian School and has almost no slang - other than technical jargon (that doesn't count).  He uses very few words to communicate but their put together well.  He uses short cuts.  If I ask "do you want to go to the movies and then to dinner?"   Answer:  No.    He isn't rude at all.  But I'd say  No, not tonight but maybe later in the week.

He really means No, maybe later in the week, but just can't quite form the words.

Me?  My English diction and language is superb!
Liar.

"Me?  My English diction and language is superb!"

Really???   I beg to differ.

"He uses very few words to communicate but their put together well."

It should be they're or they are.

But who's counting...

Is punctuation really a downer here? Im so used to chatting in a chat room, I've gotten used to shortening my words, and punctuation. That doesn't mean I have little to no education. It just means I've learned internet shorthand. :P

I replied to a Brittney Spears post that she looked like hell ...
and agreed stating ~that if she were a normal girl she would be HOT but for an entertaniner with her money and need to impress us after her bad images and rep - she should have looked better, performed better etc.
and my post didnt go up???
And now,
the reason??
