It's probably too late now, but

So im not totally a newbie but have a question about asking about a donation that is clearly not listed on her website.

So im in contact with a lady who is traveling to my area.  She would have to go a little out of her way to get to me.  So she said she would do it for an 8hr minimum.  So when I look at her site, all that is listed is a 4 hr rate and a 12 hr rate, no 8hr rate is listed.

So I emailed her and asked her what her 8hr rate was and no response in 2 weeks.

Her ad also says no rate discussion.

Well how am I suppose to figure out what her rate is?  Is their an appropriate way to ask?

Thanks

1.  You can assume it's gonna be double the 4 hour rate and prepare accordingly (you'll be wrong).

2.  You can split the difference between the 4 hour and the 12 hour rate (you'll be wrong again).

3.  You can do what you did and ask.  Don't know how you worded it but it should have been delicately.  ie...  I looked but can't find the correct time period.  Can you help...

Noi matter what you do, you'll be wrong.  She's decided you aren't worth the trouble to go out of her way.  After 2 weeks, I'd move on.  If she eventually gets back to you then it's you call what you want to do. (I'd feel like she needed an ATM at my location and move on)

That seems extreme if its only a "little bit out of her way".

1. Move on
2. Ask her for the 4 or 12 hr date.

Me, if she had not responded in that length of time, I'd move on.  If you have asked for an 8 hr rate, it seems obvious that either she does not want to see you, or she doesn't want to do an 8-hr date.  You said her ad said no rate discussion, so she ain't gonna tell you.

If she is too stupid to put the rate on her site that she is expecting you to pay it's time to move on...

what I would have done is split the difference between the 4-hour rate and the 12-hour rate and put that in the envelope, have a little extra cash in your pocket and then tell her what you did when you put the envelope down.  She probably would have said, "That's fine."  I did that once with a gal and was actually $50 short and she said she didn't care.  Of course, that was after seeing how incredibily handsome I was.  LOL!

It sounds like she really wasn't wanting to do the session for whatever reason  - with an 8 hour minimum and quoting a minimum that wasn't on her site and then not answering.

I agree...."a little out of her way" for an 8hr minimum? Were you screened before you asked the rate question?

If it is not listed on her site then start the sentence with "I don't see this listed on you website...how much would an 8hr meeting be?"

I think you should pass on this one. An 8hour minimum is massive and kinda sends up a red flag for me.
