It depends...

In my case I did provide P411 with a faxed image of my license (with address blotted out) because I'm retired and there was no biz # they could call.  I provided another piece of info; it might have been an invoice of some sort with the address obscured but I don't recall.  They claim all this info is discarded once you're approved.  I have seen no evidence this is not the case.  Besides, they are in Canada, where prostitution is legal.   They would also destroy their business if word got out they mis-used personal info.  Same goes for DateCheck.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a newbie to this hobby and I have followed the suggestions on this newbie board to read the self-help section and go through the newbie board, but I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for.

Multiple posts talks about having a seperate hobby email and phone and I like the idea but if I set up a hobby email under a hobby name then when I eventually get a session and the provider asks for my ID it will not match the hobby name in the emails. How do I handle this?

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

In the screening process a provider should or will ask for your real first and last name and some other details. Likewise if you use a date-check type service you will use your real name and other real info.
Providers understand the need for aliases, hell 95% of providers don't use heir real names(I do though!)
When contacting her via e-mail why don't you sign your name at the bottom...ex Sincerely, Jim
I hate when I can't address a potential client by his first name because he e-mail just has the screen name I feel saying "Hello Seaman10009!" is too impersonal. A provider doesn't care what you ask to be called as long as your information on you ID is accurate and not fake.

P.S. You can use your real first name as your hobby e-mail or use your middle name as your first. Of course make up a last name...Smith is common! However if you're name is ethnic or unique you might want to opt for a generic name.

...many guys feel that this is an unwelcome intrusion, and a deal breaker.

...So then you must see ladies who don't screen? You can give me and name and number and say it is you. By checking you ID you confirm you didn't lie and have nothing to hide.

Even sites like date-check or p411 make you copy your ID to prove you are who you say you are.

Refusing to produce ID is like refusing to answer screening questions. It looks fishy. If you see a well reviewed provider then showing your ID to her shouldn't worry you.

I see ladies who don't screen, and I see more who do. I'm on date-check and p411 with several verifications on each, yet I've never given out my last name, and I've shown my ID to only one provider who asked to see it for about three seconds with my last name covered. I'm not bragging--I've also never been asked for my full name or address (except when giving date-check and p411 my credit card info). All of this is possible with references. Likewise, I've never asked a provider for her real full name nor insisted she show me her driver's license. Their reviews are reference enough for my peace of mind.

I belong to both and never sent either one a copy of my ID.  I would have no problem with it however.

Date Check clearly states that they keep all info that clients give them.  The company is also US based.

By the time I registered with DateCheck I had other ways of being verified and did not have to give them any sensitve personal info.  I used only P411 for the first couple of months.

as part of the screening process she will ask for it.  If you want to see her, you'll give it, as many have done.  It's usually no problem.  Then, if she checks your license she'll see you're the same guy.  You hobby name is not important unless she wants to read reviews you've written, or check your board presence to see if she likes you.  There are many, many ways the girls screen.

You seem a bit cavalier with your info.  Going forward, I'd look at providing info to providers on an as needed basis.  I've never met a provider that has cared about what's in the From section.

Never use your real name when setting up a hobby email account.  There's no reason at all.  You can put anything into the boxes when setting up an account.

After you've set up your email account, go to your email account options screen.  Then change the name on the account to your hobby email address ([email protected]).  Eliminates the need for a hobby name since all that your email recipients will see is your hobby email address in the From section.  This works for most of the popular free email providers.  If it does not work, may I suggest just using your first initial for the first name and your last initial for the last name.
