Introductions to Phoenix

I initially tried to post this on the Phx regional board, but apparently all newbie posts have to go here.  (Already screwing up on my first post.  Great.) ;)
So... I hope the folks in AZ will pop in here and say 'hi'.  :)

Hello!

I'm a newbie!  (Hold your groans.)
I've read the FAQs, the suggestions & policies board, etc. and I think I have a decent grasp so far.  (Edit: ...or not.)

I just moved here and am getting settled (as much as one can 'settle' in this heat).  I'm also fairly new to the concept of having a web presence, so please bear with me as I have no ads, no reviews and my website is still in the process of being completed.

That being said, I'm sure there is a level of hesitation and suspicion to overcome as communal nets tighten to protect our own.  I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself formally.  I'm hoping that this is the proper forum and method for doing so.  If I commit any kind of faux pas, please let me know.  I'm new to this and won't turn down suggestions or constructive criticism.

I'm absolutely in love with this state and looking forward to being an active member of the community and TER.

Here's to hoping that I make some long-term friends in sunny Phoenix!

Abby,
Welcome to Phoenix, just remember it's a DRY heat. Look forward to seeing your website.
Be safe & careful. HH

Hi Abby and welcome,

I'm on the Phoenix board from time to time and I just happened over here for a bit and saw you post. When you first post on the Phoenix board you are probably moderated, post may not show up for 24 hours so I suggest you try again.

I am no longer moderated but had to request to be un-moderated. I had been on it for awhile so had some history of  being polite with my post. I will be watching for more  info about you so get your site going and best of luck to you.

Regards,

Bordello

"I'm absolutely in love with this state..."

I'm a Noo Yawker who attended ASU for six years and I loved the area, too. Out of curiosity, where did you move to Phoenix from?

Unfortunately, I've read that urban sprawl is so bad that the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas now touch each other. But anyway.

Make sure you've read up on Sheriff Joe.

I'm an army brat from all over, but most recently the Pacific Northwest and then Sedona, AZ for the past 6 months.
I've settled in the east part of the East Valley.
I'm far enough from the urban sprawl that I can jog through the neighborhood at night in absolute comfort and safety; yet close enough that a night in the madness of downtown is just a quick jaunt on one of the many freeways.  (Or the light-rail, though I have yet to try it.)
I've read up on the politics and those who 'protect and serve' here.  I'm no stranger to witch hunts, but I'm hoping I can keep my nose clean and stay outta trouble.  :)

Hi Bordello!
I knew I'd be moderated until people get to know me around here.  No worries.  We've all gotta pay our dues.
I just don't know what qualifies for which boards, I guess.  I thought making introductions on the regional board would be appropriate, but staff tells me I'm relegated to the newbie board.
So, until I can pop on over there and participate, I'll wave from over here. :)
Thanks for stopping by and giving such a warm welcome.  My site should be up and running by this weekend!  :)

Hi Abby,
I'm am surprised as I was  moderated at first but had no problem posting on the Phoenix board, but then that was probably a year ago or so.

I see from your post below you're in the east  valley, so am I. Guess I will be watching for  your site, hope you're allowed to post when it's up.

Regards,
Bordello
