I am considering requesting longer appointments with providers I have never seen. Many ask for a deposit. One specifically mentioned an Ecard from an online service. I have no idea what that is, and further I can not use a credit card. Is there a way to provide a deposit without a credit card?

Ecards are like online pre paid cards. Your name and info won't show on it. Similar to aa itunes or amazon gift card. You can even buy it a CVS and give her the card number.
I'm not sure how long is the date you're seeking but my advice is to make sure you guys "click". I never do overnights with clients that I haven't previously met. Because if there is no connection and fun the whole night will suck. I always suggest my clients to book a shorter date to meet up first or sometimes a long exchange of emails.
Another suggestion for newbies out there, 1- NEVER give your personal card number. 2- Don't wire money (egift, venmo) to non reputable providers.

Some High-end providers ask for deposit for longer dates or travel dates. Which based on the reviews that's what voyager-43 was talking about. Hookers get paid after the service.

I'm talking about 3 hour or 4 hour dinner dates. If the 4 hour dinner date is 1500 , for example, then I have no problem with paying 50% up front because the lady I would choose for a dinner date is someone that is highly reviewed with top marks. I'm not making a dinner date with a non-reviewed lady with sketchy bona fides. I completely OK with the lady asking for a deposit for holding a 4 hour timeframe open for me. If the stiletto was on the other foot, I would want to protect my valuable time as well. I was asking how to do it without using a credit card. Thanks everyone

I did have one very long night with somebody who was not that easy to get along with, but all the rest of my overnight appointments were great successes.
Since I do check references carefully, I'm not afraid of giving somebody my real name so they can send me a money order or send me a Western Union payment. I also let people pay for my bills with their credit cards. If it's my first time to see somebody I ask for them to sign a note saying that they authorize me to use that credit card for that payment and I take a picture of them holding that note. I've been doing these things for years and no problems. PayPal has a very strict no adult policy! I've been banned from PayPal twice and for life. And I didn't get the money they owed me either! I recommend staying far away from PayPal unless you have some kind of legitimate business (Which I did, but stilll they banned me). I understand that this is a newbies board and the advice they are giving is to help newbies not get ripped off. I appreciate that. Err on the side of caution. But I think that it's important to mention that reputable providers are definitely doing extended appointments and requiring deposits and that's OK. I suspect you will have a hard time getting a deposit back from many providers even if their policy says they will return it if you cancel. Be prepared to lose it if you cancel your appointment.
See a few gals, and discuss the next possible date. At least you will know the ones that you actually want to spend more time with. Don't set yourself up for 3 hrs. with someone you don't "click" with.
I don't know a single well reviewed gal that is going to chance a new guy paying once everything is over with. You are advocating a guy holding our payment over our heads and giving them power that they should never have to possibly abuse. If a guy feels so uncomfortable with a gal's rules, he should move along to the next one. It is very standard to place the envelope where she knows or indicates when first arriving. If you feel you can't trust her, then see highly reviewed ladies. I personally saw a lady and I was more than willing to pay upfront for her to come to my city for an extended date. Know why? I did my research and knew I could trust her. It wasn't chump change either. I checked all over and even went to the trouble of finding out back-guy-talk if I should trust her. She chose to take a huge chance and trust me by coming to my city, which was very much out of her way, based on my very well known reputation of being honest and not a game player or flake. I don't think I would have done the same for her. Ripoffs are a two way street. We all need to be honest and play safe.

Get a reloadable prepaid or gift card. Your info isn't tied to it, you can check your balance and do anything else that you would with a major credit card. You can electronically pay her deposit if she is using an electronic service (or app) to collect deposits.

Voyager, here are a few options: -prepaid credit cards such as Vanilla or GreenDot Visa -Visa/MasterCard gift cards -money orders (I'm personally a fan of the USPS ones) paid for in cash and delivered to her via her preferred method (some of us have PO boxes just for this purpose) -simple cash handoff prior to the actual date Of course, you can always ask the lady what alternatives she offers, if any.
