Howdy from Houston! This is my first post with TER. I am a new provider just getting into the business as an indie and am doing my research, so be gentle with the virgin, please. Haha! Obvious WHY I must screen new clients, but HOW? I know about contact forms, but wouldn't clients be wary of giving out all this personal info to someone they have never seen outside of a photo? What do I need to ask them? Any tips for avoiding LE? Since I am new, how do I provide my clients with references to screen ME? What is the best way to advertise? (And yes, I am in the process of building a website and will register on here.) This innocent will be grateful for any info from the experienced. Thanks so much!
As for asking for personal information: Yes, many people are nervous about giving out info about where they work and live, but you should continue to do so for your protection. Enough guys will do so and they are the ones you want anyways.
To avoid LE situaions, avoid any client who starts inquiring about specific sexual acts. That is what LE tries to do to secure a good bust.
Getting references from other providers is good. check out provider reference sites like Danger Zone 911.
Your best references will come from having clients review you here. Short of that, participate on the boards with some give and take. I've met a few good provdiers that way. Think of it as free advertising.
Also develop raport with local providers. They can be an excellent source of assistance. There is a providers only board here. Make use of it.
Other providers will give you their opinions of which boards are best to advertise on. Eros always seems to come up as the most common, but they are pricey. Craig's List is free, but is rife with LE these days.
I hope this helps. Always grateful to help a virgin. 8o)
Thanks very much, mrfisher, for giving this newbie an "easy intro." I appreciate the help.
If someone does inquire about specifics, what is the best response? Isn't it a bit late for the client to find out what I will or won't do once the clothes are on the floor? Should I be fairly specific on my website, or will most clients assume that everything is on the menu? There are a few dishes the cook won't serve. Again, thanks!
Welcome to the newbie board!!! This is intended to be a safe place for all to ask their questions. I think you have seen by now there are guys and gals willing to help.
I don't think there's a way for clients to do that for a new provider. The best thing for you to do is build up a track record of consistently great service and rack up some good reviews.
In the meantime, put together a well-worded website with some good recent photos. Check the link below for some more discussion on this.
Am lovingly working on my website and expect it to be up in a few days. I hope to earn some good client reviews soon. Many thanks to everyone for the valuable info. I do appreciate it.
Excellent! Just the kind of things I need to know, she says, furiously scribbling in her notebook. Consider yourself gratefully kissed on the cheek. Which cheek is up to you.
