I've been reading through the newbie board, as I am quite the newbie, and while there are many answers to be found, questions still arise. I thank whoever replies in advance for their willingness to help!

So I've seen multiple references to the various verification sites/companies. The top 2 seem to be Date Check and P411. Is one generally preferred over another?

I've seen several places where people comment about being retired, or self employed. I happen to work for a regular company, but I work from home (And the company is based out of California, I'm in Arizona), so I don't have a direct line through my employer that I can be contacted through. What kind of barriers can I expect that to give me for verifications?

Would it possibly be simpler to invite one of the ladies for dinner with absolutely no thoughts or intentions beyond that for a first reference?

on your location.  Depending on where you are, one verification site may be favored over another.  Check in your area to see which is most preferred.

We were all newbies at one point in time.  First of all, forget about the dinner date with no intentions beyond that.  Save that for friends and family.  

I started seeing providers who don't ask for references, find them on backpage.com, and look up their reviews here on TER to make sure that they are okay.  See a body rub girl or an escort, whatever you want, it doesn't matter.  Visit with her a few times, have a good time, but make sure she knows your name or alias or whatever.  Then go see a different provider who requires either recent references, or a date check number.  That tell you that she is also a member of date check.  Give this new provider the name of the first provider you saw as your reference.  After the second provider calls the first provider who should vouch for you, then you are good to go with the second provider.  Then have a good time again.  After seeing the second provider, tell her that you want to join date check, and ask her if she will vouch for you.  Then join date check and enter the name of the second provider you saw who is a member there, who will vouch for you.  After she does that, you are now in with date check, no employment verification needed.  They only need employment info if nobody vouches for you.

Swim us correct again (maybe that's why he's the newbie mod ) Like he said, different verification sites are more popular in certain areas or regions. While it is usually good to post newbie questions on the newbie board, the question as to which verification site is preferred in your area may be a good question for your regional board as people from the area may know better than on a national board like this. That is if you are from an area that has an active regional board.

There are some sites besides p411 and date-check also (rs2k, for one) Personally I belong to both p411 and date-check. In my opinion I think p411 is a better site and more user friendly with better search options and contact methods. However I will keep my membership in both since it may help me when I travel and might want to see a lady who accepts one but not the other.

As for the service verifying you, most of them will work with you, to figure a discrete way to know you are who you say you are. Figure out which one is more popular in your area then email them and tell them your issue.

with swim and perfectstorm I will also add if you want to contact a lady and just want to have dinner so she can be a reference you will still need to be verified.The easiest way is to sign up with one or both of the verification sites that have been suggested.Once you are a member of P411 you can search for ladies in your area or any areas you travel to that are specifically newbie friendly.There are some ladies who will accept you being a member of P411 and she is fine with that and some who will still require additional info even if you are a P411 or Date-Check member.All depends on the lady every lady is different.
Inquiring on what site that is more widely used in the area and then go from there.

assuming the gals you want to see have web sites.  Most web sites will make clear which verification service she prefers. Personally, I use both P411 and Date-Check.

RS2K is not used much in FL, but think it is popular in midwest, not sure where else.

I really like P411. As a newbie friendly provider, you typically have to start with a limited amount of information for me to work with - if I need more (i.e., employer) then I will let you know. Sometimes I can find out whatever I am looking for without the added employment information and then again, sometimes not.  You can still be verified through your employer - discreetly - without having a direct line!

I went with P411.  They are great to work with and I have found their website very helpful in arranging for appointments with providers.  Well worth the money.
