is there any need in providers buying vip membership

Your Profile is linked to your handle so that means that you already have Provider free limited VIP: you can PM (very important), you can read the Juicy Details of your own reviews only. I'm not certain, but maybe you don't have full review search capability.  

With PAID VIP, you can read the Juicy Details of ALL reviews. That comes in handy when learning about guys who have asked to meet you. You can get an idea of what they are like (or claim to be like) based on how they describe their experiences (tame, rough; submissive, dominant; polite, rude; etc.).  If a guy clearly likes some things that you do not, you can choose to decline to see him and avoid disappointments.  

Other reasons ... eh, ... xyz? P'storm? ...  

Try it for a month or two (~$30 per month; pay with anonymous Gift Card) and see if you get your money's worth out of it

As impposter already explained, if you have his TER handle (and make sure it IS him by requesting he PM you here) then you get to see all of what he's written in his reviews of others.    

Not only will that hopefully give you some sense of his likes/dislikes, it will also show you his tastes and preferences in providers.  If he mainly only sees one particular physical type, or age-range, that can be useful knowledge to have.
Likewise if he sees a variety of types, but tends to give lower scores for one type versus another.  

And of course, some ladies will refuse to see gentlemen who appear to be stingy-scorers.  That is, even if the words of their reviews are all complimentary and polite yet the scores are lower than each lady's average: that might be a pass.  

 
Also: you have the Provider Limited VIP which means you can look him up via his email address to see his Whitelists but this won't show you his reviews, if he's written any.  Having Full VIP, however, WILL show you his reviews via that search.  
Although this feature isn't a secret, not everyone knows about it so occasionally someone will be surprised when I mention something I found in his reviews, even though he never told me his handle here.  

... is that it allows you to, if you wish, perform "market research" on other providers by doing profile searches based on details visible only to full VIP members, such as rates, services offered, and review scores.

How do you put a price on that

Your info, as well as Deb's is good for the OP. I agree with you that she should try it out for a few months at least, then decide if it's worth keeping for her. Personally I think it is good for a provider to have and is a relatively small business expense.

Only works if you have the email address that he used to sign up for TER.
