But it's hard for me to generalize about any one profession or occupation "never" doing any one thing or being characteristically a certain way. I'm sure all the providers you've encountered are trustworthy, discrete and level-headed professionals, but I've personally bumped across a few with questionable character.
It's like the issue with providing personal information, many hobbyists here seem inordinately trustworthy of the honor and discretion of providers. For me, I don't like to take chances, even though it might seem reasonable to assume certain professions are on a higher ground than the norm.
I like the provider to be close enough so travelling is convenient, but far enough away where she has very low probability of meeting in public.
Some providers I used were members of Bally's and in fact worked out in the same facilities as I, although I never bumped into anyone yet. But it could happen.
It depends on the size of the Ciyt, if you live in Topeka, Omaha or Cheyenne, you'll probably have a good chance of running into one. However if you live in a City larger than about 500K, your chances are slim to none.
It really doesn't matter Providers are very discreet and would never approach you or for that matter even speak to you. Discretion keeps them in business.

I have had it happen to me often. There is a restaurant owner that I see and I ran into him at the grocery store buying food. I walked past him like I had never seen him before in my life. Funny I ran into a client at the gym and he attempted to start a conversation with me even though I saw him but didn't acknowledge him. Weird.
