I feel the same way...you have to start somewhere. Be open to providing whatever details are asked- work, online presense, etc. Try to choose reputable ladies who might be willing to be a reference...and you review too. I would not suggest your first reviews are of ladies you suspect to be lower in performance as it will appear to some providers risky to see you thinking that you might be very critical, picky and potentially not satisfiable. Once you have one or two well reviewed ladies under your belt of experiences, you should be alright. P411 is the best option to get started...do consider this if it is a valid option for you.
I've read in a couple of places the importance of references when contacting and requesting the time and presence of providers. I get it. Safety of the individuals providing such services before anything else. If I were in those pair of shoes, I wouldn't have it any other way as well.
To make a long story short, earlier this year I finally got out to Vegas by myself for the very first time. I'd been there many times before, but always with family or friends who would not approve of my desire to partake in this hobby. Well, I took my first shot at being alone to dive into this...however, I didn't do much research and ended up with a less than memorable (or maybe memorable for the wrong reasons) first time with an agency-provided person whom I have no contact with now.
I'd very much like to have more experiences in this field of interest, but seeing as how many providers ask for references and I can't really provide one, I am a little bit concerned. So, basically I'm probably the equivalent of a newb and, I mean, if a newb were interested in getting into this hobby, and providers need references from other providers, how does one without a provider reference obtain a provider reference to request the company of a provider? Am I just out of luck? Might proving other aspects during verification allow a provider to overlook the fact that I can't provide a reference?
How did everyone get into this type of hobby? Do I just have to bite a newbie bullet and find a provider willing to meet someone without references and willing to be a reference even if she's not really who I'd like to meet just to obtain said reference? Clearly I absolutely have to have over-thinkified this entire situation and there must be a solution to this question that is blatantly simpler than I've made this entire thing out to be. Any thoughts, opinions, experiences or even clarifications are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration reading any of this.
A frequently asked question (FAQ). Too bad we don't have a real FAQ+As to help you out. So, we chime in here.

Consider signing up with a verification site such as P411. (Search this board for "P411".) You can then search P411 listings for newbie friendly Providers. (Search this board for "newbie friendly".)
.
Once you have seen a reputable hostess, you can ask her to serve as a reference for a subsequent meeting with someone else. And so on.

Good luck! Have fun! And when you're in LV, please place $5 on 00 for me. If it hits, you can pay me later.

Thanks for the tip on searching the term newbie friendly and the P411 site. I'll surely look into the first option as I do more research and I will figure out the P411 route within stone's toss of my trip as I'm sure there's some kind of fee for it that's got to be timed--no sense in wasting money on a fee if I won't be using the service within the allotted time period, you know?
lol...and I always tell my friends to put the same $5 down on 00 for me every single time. Funny story. A ex-coworker of mine once went to Vegas with her boyfriend and his friends. They'd walk by tables and all yell out a color. If they'd sync up, they'd bet on that color. The first table they come across, they all said red, they put their money down and the sucker lands on 00! I got a disgruntled text message almost immediately about how my bad juju had just lost her money. LOL Too bad she didn't listen to me!
Anyway. Thank you for the reply and the information. I look forward to learning more about this hobby and hopefully I'll have things figured out sooner than not.

Thank you very much for the reply and the suggestions.
As stated in my prior reply to Sasha, I do have a growing list...and I do recall seeing "newbie friendly" (or similar) written on some personal websites. So hopefully that list will grow with time to include more "just getting into the hobby"-friendly providers.
I am also glad to hear that with some (or likely many) ladies, providing reference/being reviewed is a two way street. I mean...like, as memorable/unmemorable as I say my first experience was, it was NOT a knock on the lady that was sent to visit me. She was really sweet, patient and in the end, very satisfying. It's just that I had regrets of not having done a lot of research, not knowing the etiquette, nor knowing the cost of consideration before hand, not being able to get to know the person a little more before hand, not knowing what she was and wasn't willing to provide and being too afraid as a first-timer to upset the provider by asking for certain things, etc. This site and the reviews, for example, illustrate a lot and provides valuable information....something I wish I had known before my first attempt at any of this.
But yeah...I didn't review her here, because...well...her agency isn't on here, I feel they are less than reputable than they claim they are (one of those sites using porn actress and webcam model pics to advertise profiles when it actually isn't them), etc. Providing a review for her may be a fruitless endeavor as the profile created will never be claimed, nor probably taken seriously (plus, the poor lady probably thought I was LE, as stiff and awkward as I probably was in her presence).
I also appreciate the suggestion to not allow my standards to dip too low just for reference purposes. I understand how that could appear dishonest in it's own rights and bad on me as a person. And thank you also for the P411 tip. It seems that site is largely and highly regarded by many providers. Perhaps I will swoop back through my "wish list" later to see if verification sites like P411 can be utilized in lieu of provider references. =)
Ok, this is the newbie board, and I'm supposed to be nice. But if this is a short post, I'd like to know what you consider a long post
Know about your situation, EVERYONE, was an web and had no references when they started. P411 as stated is a good idea. However, if you read ads and web sites of providers, you'll see many say "newbie friendly". That usually means they have alternative methods to screen you. It could be work or personal info. Just depends what you want to give up in the way of information about you.

lol, sorry for the misunderstanding of what I meant regarding a long story made short. I was merely referencing my first experience being a long story abbreviated. That was an ordeal that would take pages of text to fully detail and go through. Condensing it to basically just "It was my first time, I winged it, and came away with no references" is totally making it a short story. hehe
Anyway, I appreciate the simplicity in the answer of everyone having been there at one point or another and the plug on P411, as that seems to be par for the course in terms of dealing with this potential issue. I suppose the good thing is I'm pretty open to verifying whatever I need to verify, short of identity-stealing information like social security number and all that jazz. Kind of assures me the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train, you know?
But yeah. My bad. I didn't intend the "long story short" reference to describe my style of writing or the length of my question, and thanks again for the input.
