I always left the unmarked envelope in plain sight.

Timeto ask the experts:

OK, I have setup a dinner date with a hopefully "safe" provider - many reviews over many years. I know what her rate is, and we have made the dinner plans. But we have not talked about the fee or the way that she wants to receive it.

So - after she arrives at my room, I will have it in a little envelope. Any guidance on how to handle the exchange?

Ask her?
Leave it out for her to pick up?
Let her ask me for it?

It sounds like to me that you are on the right track already

I believe most would just place the plain white unmarked envelope in an obvious place, such as desk or nightstand, when she arrives; she will know what to look for. I have sometimes had the envelope in my pocket when she arrives and wait for her to set down any items like coat, purse, keys, etc. and will place the donation right next to this.

It is best if nothing is ever said or mentioned about this; it is just silently understood by both of you.

I get nervous seeing the envelope laying there, so when I am in communication with my potential date, I make sure to indicate that we can discuss business AFTER our pleasure ;) This also makes him feel comfortable, as well :)

Don't make a big deal of it.

Both of you know what the donation and there is no reason for discussion about it.  It is also a little tacky to hand it to her w/ or w/o envelope.

She may pick it up unassumingly and count it in the restroom.  In my experience, many ladies trust you and don't count it there.  Of course, that comes with experience, reputation and the number of times you have seen her.

Good Luck!!

I'm a newbie too.  Only gone once, so I'm in the same boat you are.....

My first time, I just took the envelope out and laid it on a table next to the door as I walked in, I didn't even look at what I was doing.  Very non-chalant.. I knew enough to at least know to not say a word.

So that's for incall.

For outcall, I have a table by the door I'll leave the envelope on (first outcall will be on Wednesday :) so that should do the trick - I'll just leave it there before she gets there and when I go to the kitchen to get us a drink, she can pick it up without a word.

And open my gift at the same time :)

Sounds like you have it figured out. That's pretty much what I do--place it on a table or something as I take off my coat, cap, etc, without saying anything about it. I'm usually talking about something else, just general chit-chat...
