This is a red flag for me. If a lady doesn't have reviews and doesn't list her donation in an ad or on a personal web site, I move on.
That's not to say that a provider who doesn't list her rates isn't legit (many porn stars don't list there rates and are the exception to my personal "move on" rule), but it's just not worth the chance for me.
I was checkin out independents on EROS and most providers don't list their donation and many don't have a website or a ter review. When and how is the proper way to ask their donation requirement?
I usually send an initial email with all of my verification info, get verified, then either mention it discreetly in a subsequent email or on a call. Of course don't ask about specific services.
To me, this is a reg flag. Most of the indie ladies that are well known and reviewed list their rates in their ads on EROS and other provider malls. If she doesn't but has a profile here, you can check it and find out what the donation requirement is. If she has no website or profile, two more big reg flags. You are flying blind if you decide to take a chance and TOFTT. Be prepared for a potential B&S. Not a recommended course of action for newbies.
If you do decide to see one of those ladies, I would imagine she will tell you her donation requirements when she responds to your appointment request. Or, you can just ask for a number if she doesn't volunteer it (which would be yet another reg flag...now upsell is in the mix).

The advice you offer is good for the more seasoned hobbyist, but for a newbie, I'd like to amend your second part to...
If you just have to see her, MOVE ON anyway. An Eros, with no pricing or reviews, is just too dangerous for a newbie. It will vary by market, but Eros will accept ads from anyone that pays, so some of the ladies aren't very nice.
We are getting a bit away from the subject, but if new stay with reviewed providers. I have only contacted TER providers with the exception of one I found at date-chack, and she was reviewed elsewhere. You should at least write her and ask if she has been reviewed somewhere other than TER. The ladies seem to have to pay fees at various sites like EROS, Date-check, even here I think. Not all can afford to be everywhere. If she is reviewed, then you can feel much freer to come out and ask things, just keep in mind to treat them with respect and safety, so dont push and use terms such as donation, or roses, or such. Be discreet but clear.
RoDunn - I agree with you regarding "stars". I am meeting a Penthouse model on Friday. Her site has great pics and such, but a lot of info missiing. Normally would have past it, but one of the ladies I met is her good friend and she is highly reviewed here. I am glad I know a friend of hers because I am not sure she is very easy to book. But yes, stars can be an exception to the rules.
