I recently came across a brand new escort ad on another board (escortbook). It looks almost too good to be true. The unusual things are:

* It's an 18-year-old (born in 1996 according to the site), but the "services" page is a full list of explicit offerings, including things like "Anal Sex, Toilet Play (piss/scat) +$200, Rough Sex +$100", etc. There is no attempt whatsoever to be discreet.

* The rates are a little funny, e.g. 1-hour $400, overnight $1000, 24-hours $7500... Huh? Why is 24 hours almost 8 times as much as overnight?

* On the plus side, the review has a link to a twitter account that has been active for 3 months. But the feed has awfully suggestive tweets, like "I don't like wearing panties anymore," "I'm all horny," and such.

I'd like to try this escort out, and take one for the team. But the lack of reviews makes me suspicious. Are there any steps I should take to vet this ad? Anything I should do when I contact the escort?

I tried to post the actual link to the escort site, but the message was rejected as not meeting TER guidelines.

Run any pics posted with the ad through Tineye. Them not showing up isn't proof things are okay, but if you get a hit you can be sure it's bullshit.

I ran a few images through tineye and got zero results. I also searched the phone number (it's a 415 area code, a little unusual for the L.A. area, but she may have moved from San Francisco). There are no hits on the phone number

I guess my main concern is an LEA sting. If I go to her incall location, it may be a place with video cameras and cops. Would it be safer to book a hotel have her come to me as an outcall? Perhaps in another county? Her ad says she'll travel up to 2 hours away.

It may not be LE, but even so she sounds a bit unstable, and the Twitter stuff doesn't add any to my sense of comfort.

But one other step you could take would be to ask about her on the LA or Bay Area Boards and see if anyone there has the 411 on her.

Your situation may be different than mine, but you've identified a half-dozen red flags that probably don't indicate LE but are certainly out of the norm. That could mean lots of things, but few of them are good. For me, if my sixth sense tingles enough to have me asking for opinions, that's a pretty good time to start thinking with the big head.  

You've got some reviews dating back.  Well, way back, actually, so I'm guessing you know this in your heart of hearts.  

I'm also kinda curious why, after an apparent 11 year hiatus from reviewing (following a rather impressive single month in 2003) you'd want to TOFFT with a girl you have reasonable suspicion about.

I didn't see any mention of reviews.  If she says she is 18, I'd be very wary, too easy for her to actually be underage, not good for you.

A good rule of thumb to follow is, 'if it looks too good to be true', it probably is.  Those rates make absolutely no sense at all.  The phone number is not unusual, many people keep their original cell number when they move.  It eliminates the need to notify all your contacts of your new number, so I would not worry about that.

My personal opinion is, move on, there are plenty of them out there to take an unnecessary chance.

My long hiatus was due to personal reasons (i.e. women in my life). I'm single again, so my interest has been sparked again.
You'll notice all my reviews were in Europe, where it's completely legal and above board. I have yet to engage in the hobby in the United States, so I'm learning the ropes here, where there are more challenges.

Got it. Yeah, I'd really skip this one if I were you.  There are many providers with reviews you can see without these concerns.  A lot changes a decade and a continent away.  Better to figure it all out while making safer calls and then experiment with this kind of thing when you've got more experience than you (or me, for that matter) have in this environment.

I'd be much more concerned about not getting the provider and/or services described in an ad like this than LE.  The barely-legal age, deep menu, and un-creative Twitter feed sound like a blatant attempt to get guys into a bait-and-switch situation most will be too embarassed to walk away from.  

In most cases LE doesn't play the 'long game'.  If the post/Twitter feed has been up for months its probably not them.  You can never be 100% sure but in most places stings are set up for specific times/places and the ads appear when those things are going on and disappear just as quickly.  They usually don't have the resources just sitting around to swing into action anytime someone answers an ad that's been up for months.

10 years, based on your last review being in 2003.  A lot has changed.

LE usually look for the low hanging fruit; meaning SW and massage parlors.  Rarely will LE go after an independent lady who is doing outcall or even incall.   Sure, providers can be compromised but if you have TER VIP and read details in reviews as well as PM some of the reviewers, you should be safe.  Keep in mind, there are no guarantees.
