I am making a trip in April and really want to see a certain lady.  How far in advance should I schedule the appointment?

Contact the provider you are interested in seeing and get her take on it.  If you are locked in sure of the dates of your trip, now might be ok, ESP if she is real popular and books up quickly.  But, as I said, it would prob be a good idea to just ask her.

I have few opportunities to hobby so I tend to plan ahead of time, anywhere from 1 week up to 6 weeks in advance.  I just booked an appointment for 5 weeks out for a lady who is traveling through my area.

If it's a well established girl, I would go ahead and book a date for April.  If your unsure send an email or PM letting her know you will be making a date during these days and for 1 or 2 hours for example.  It's important to let them know you are serious.  Then quickly follow-up with a specific request.  If they're busy or out of town you'll have plenty of time to make other plans.

How can you? Even if a guy asks for a specific date, he may forget to cancel if his plans change. At best, it's a tentative request that far in advance.

I've gotten numerous requests that are months in advance only to never hear from the guy again. I'm sure most other providers have, too.

So, go ahead and contact her now. There is no reason not to. But don't think that alone "books" your time slot.

Send another confirmation once you've purchased your plane ticket. And then another a week prior. And then another one the day before the date unless she gives specific instructions on how she wants to confirm the date.

If you contact now, not only can you find out now if she's available, but it also gives you plenty of time to shore up local references if her screening process is rigid.
