Post on the New York regional board to get yourself known there. You can also post ads on the New York ad board. If you already have reviews, get them linked. See the two threads directly below to melanie and Kami about linking reviews and about ads.

Don't get pushy about it but if you ask nicely, you never know what someone might do.

Tell them to join TER, it cost nothing to join and write a review, and they will get access to reviews after they publish a couple of reviews, at least for a while.

That's how I came to join TER in the first place.

I assume you are not new to hobby and already have a website that you can link to your ads?

I would never tell a lady how to structure her business model. Your time/effort and only you can determine the value of that time.  

But from my perspective, for a brand new provider out of the gate, asking $600 an hour, $1000 for two hours, and then $400 dollars each additional hour, is going to be high for a lot of clients. Couple these prices with a website that does not have very revealing photos and you are ultimately facing an extreme uphill battle in New York. It is ultra competitive. You are at least fortunate that your one review is by someone with a board presence so that could be enough to get others to take the proverbial plunge.

The other posters are correct. Start marketing yourself on the New York boards. Respond/post to comments. Once you establish a board presence, it will be easier to attract clients. But its going to take time.

I took the plunge after speaking with her on the phone and getting a good sense of what I think Alissa was about.

I wrote a review after the fact, but I don't always do that.

I think you just need to build your clientele slowly but surely.  Perhaps partner with a provider who is a little more high-profile and who can refer some clients to you.

Or join an agency and get reviews that way, before going independent.

But be realistic.  Times are tough now, and money is tight.  Guys are a lot more selective, and you should realize that reviews will come, but everything will take time now.

Do that by temporarily offering a Winter Discount or something like that. Drop your rate to $400, just until you get 3-4 reviews. Push the fact that you are new in the headline of your TER ad, and push your current review since crazy is a well known reviewer and you received a good review. Put "limited time only" on the ad to create some action on it. Def ask ur guys to write a review. I would send them a thank you email just after ur sesion, wait for their reply to make sure it was all positive on their end, then very sweetly and softly ask them if they wouldn't mind writing u a review to help you out since u are new. Get those reviews then bump your rate back up to where u want it. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

Once you drop a rate for everyone, it is very hard to get them to pay it again. Do like everyone else..use the system then increase your rates for NEW clients, but grandfather the guys who helped you out in the beginning. 400 in NYC is insane. Providers in New Orleans have to charge that to weed out the dipshits. If you're hot with a nice menu of services, you can very well charge what you want, but maybe think of offering say 90 min. or 2 hours for that 600. That way, YOU still get the same amount of money, and guys are not whining about "600 for only an hour." Just a thought.

Right now L in NYC, hot young girls with 10+ excellent reviews are getting $500. There is a ton of competition and the market is soft. The OP has one review and although it is a very good one, it isnt an excellent one. Thats not a critisism, she will get better, so an 8/8 for a first review is more than fine. To compete with that and get a handful of quick reviews posted the $400 rate is warranted. Of course your other points are spot on, as usual.

And once some guys hear of a lower rate, it makes it harder to get your full rate.

I do agree that a promotion can be a good thing, but there are other ways to go about that.  Perhaps offer a TER special to those who are established TER members, and define that as someone who has a certain number of reviews.

I think Alissa is a good find in NYC, and she is going to appeal to a certain clientele which favors an educated, classy girl.

You are looking at this like a car dealership asking for a review on the follow after getting service.  In other words, "Anything less than five out of five stars, Mr. Bluepillman, is considered failure on our part.  So please make sure you call us and discuss this before you give us four out of five stars."

I do think the market is soft now, but an 8/8 is hardly not excellent.  That's where this whole scoring thing gets all jumbled up.  If a girl has 8s to 10s, I'm looking at that EXACTLY the same as girl with only 9s and 10s.

You must think so too or you would have scored her higher. And I did say I was not critisizing her for it was very good for her first review. I think almost every provider would say they get better at their profession with time. Guys looks at numbers Crazy. Girls set there prices accordingly. You may lump 8's in with 9's and 10's. Most guys dont.

It has never happened.  And I disagree that guys will make their decisions at the end of the day based on numbers.  Are you suggesting that if it comes down to two otherwise nearly identical candidates that the guy is gonna go with the girl who has has a higher average than the other?

Because I think that's insane.  Most guys will look at a review's wording more than anything else, if they have any brains whatsoever.  Because if scores were that important, there would be no need for any explanation, and guys wouldn't get on here bitching about the lack of details.

You can't have it both ways.  And many guys here talk outta both sides of their mouths.  That's one thing I will never be accused of.

I like the idea of a rate of $400 for reviews.  That is for hobbyist who have reviewed at least ten girls.

Go read my earlier post on this. I specifically stated I wasnt critisizing the girl. I even said for a first review, your review of her was "more than fine"  for her.

She can improve, as any newbie girl can and will. With that improvement, she can charge more. Guys base their decisions on a number of factors, with scores being one of them. If we disagree, we disagree. No biggee.

You can bail out of it at anytime if it isnt working for you. Do your best to make sure your early reviews are as good as you can, like I am sure you will, so you can raise your rates as soon as you can.

London's idea of possibly discounting the next 1/2 hr or hour so you are still getting your $600 for your session is also something to consider. Crazy's idea of giving the discount to TER members only is another good idea. It depends on your financial situation and I am not asking you to comment on that.

I don't think you need to look at an 8 as "room for improvement" at all.  That's purely the wrong way of looking at anything.  Scores are merely MY assessment of how the session was.  That's all.  Don't look at a 10 as perfection and something to be obtained.  That is the wrong way to look at scoring.

I understand the flawed logic that 10/10 means you can charge more, but that's totally untrue.  10/10 simply means that you have made such an impression with that one review that it can't get any better than that.  It doesn't mean that every other girl he reviewed and scored below a 10/10 can "improve" to get to those scores.  I take issue with that entire line of reasoning because it turns this into a competition between one girl and another.

Let's just drop this.  Move on.  I was very, very satisfied with Alissa, and I don't ever give out 10/10s.  Some other reviewers do, and many of them give them out like candy.  Some will tell you that they feel my grading is more honest as a result of that.

In the end, it's just MY review of her.  Pay more attention to what I wrote than the score, because honestly I would just as soon not put a score on anything.  The whole scoring thing is nothing more than a way for a narcissistic, insecure girl to get to the top of some chart.

It is easier for the Four Seasons to give you a package with breakfast in bed and some spa credit than it is for them to cut 25% off their room rates.

I would look at that as a business model.

So it really does depend on factors I cant comment on. I havent met her, you have, so I am at a disadvantage there. It also depends on her financial situation and her comfort level on how she wants to market herself and how often she wants/needs/can work.

My personal opinion is that it's better to build slowly and deliberately with the clientele you want.

Ultimately Alissa is a very smart girl, and I think she will do just fine.

You are proly working on it, but I would add pics to it. The pics you have on there are very, very good. I would say shoot for 10-15 total. That is something most guys would expect to see when considering an upscale lady like yourself. You never know what pic will do it for what guy. Dont be afraid to put casual pics on there, bikini shots, etc. But of course you have to feel comfortable with them.

On a more minor note, I would change the word "Testimonials" as one of your links to "Reviews". Testimonials has a different connotation, as if guys are going on your website to write the review or you're editing/cutting pasting them in some way which may cause some guys not to click on that link. The term "Reviews" leaves less doubt. Again, its a minor point but I thought i would throw it out to you anyway.

Otherwise it sounds like you are an agency. And as Blue said MORE PICs to show how lovely you are, and a little variety.

I would suggest not dropping your rate unless you are comfortable with accepting that rate from that client forever and/or cutting him loose once you are established and ready to raise it.  I don't offer discounts for anyone and I don't grandfather for anyone.  If they can't accept that, adios.  I don't just pick numbers out of the sky and I have a reason for my rates and it's to be profitable!  A true gentleman would not ask you to skip profitability for his benefit but once you've paid a lower price it's a bitter pill to pay more, but hey that's life with all businesses.

Hard to say. I have no idea what the rates are in NY. Here in Phoenix the rates would be a bit high but I hear everything in NY costs more. Why not a beautiful woman!

You are mistaken.  I believe in the grandfather clause.

follow up is important because a lot of times reviews are rejected  because simple rules are not followed, and sometimes rejected more than once....professionals are busy and our review is not the highest priority in their world so we need to remind them to follow up to make sure it was not rejected. This is especially important if the client is new to TER because rejection happens less when a client is regular on TER because he already knows the things that would cause rejection and how to avoid them. I would ask at the end of the session and typically if they liked you they will say yes....but may forget so follow up!!!
