 You can peruse the large "escort malls" on the web and when you see a provider that catches your eye look to the bottom of her ad and see if there is a link to TER reviews.

 When more specific questions arise there is both the discussion board search engines to utilize and then the boards and PrivateMail(PM) as well.

I also popped my cherry with a provider but I was damn lucky to find a nice girl without knowing about TER.

So read up on every aspect of this hobby: booking appointments, what to do with the gift, how to treat her well, what to expect from her, STDs, etc.  Once you are comfortable, ask on your local board for recommendations for a newbie.  Some ladies are more patient than others.

If references are a problem, use employment verification or use a verification service.  Oddly enough, I've never been verified for anything.  But I stick to TER providers and somehow manage to win their hearts and minds ahead of time.

I've literally spent a good 6 hours looking at different women and trying to see which one would be right for me.  I've found one particular provider I'd like to meet and just sent out an e-mail to her.  Hopefully all goes well.

Sounds like you're making good progress, but don't focus too much any one lady at this point.  Remember, being a 1st timer in the hobby, you may face screening and reference challenges.  

Try to identify a few women who will meet your needs.  Now I not saying that you shouldn't prefer one over the others, or that you should settle for the first lady that responds to your email.  You will save alot of time in getting what you want if you have plans B, C and D, if and when plan A falls through.

Well I've made initial contact with 2 different women and I've looked at more profiles than I can count.  I'd be lucky to have either one of these ladies contact me back but if worse comes to worse I'll just have to keep looking.

Early on in your hobby, stick with agencies, rather than independents.  I've had independents cancel on me and give me fake directions, as if they were trying to play a prank on the new guy (they could tell from my nervousness on the phone, I guess).  The agency I used during my first venture in the hobby, however, was suberb in the way they treated me.  The operator spelled things out for me, and she even gave me words of encouragement when I sounded nervous on the phone.

Now it's not an issue anymore, as I've had some experience already, but it was very real back in the day.  In time, you'll be able to talk comfortably on the phone too, but in the meantime, stick with agencies.

I've seen many more men who have complained about being jerked around by agencies than independent ladies-- most indies have much more motivation to keep their reputations in good shape.

Sure, there are flakes... but generally speaking, I think the multitude of rip-offs, bait and switch, and cash and dash come from those institutions that are solely out to trick the guys thinking only with their little head. Not to say that's you, newbie, but you are prime material to be suckered unless you stick to the good research you're already doing.

As a virgin you certainly want to have a memorable good time experience and one where the nervous rookie butterflies are those rooted in excitement and not fear. Do your research and look for independent providers with a solid history and reputation with ample well documented reviews.

I'd also suggest that you consider choosing someone a bit more mature than your own age.  There are many older (30+) providers than yourself who have the experience, wisdom, patience and compassion to make a first time encounter wonderful.  Don't be afraid to be honest and tell her your sexual status.  Again with solid research you will be able to find a beautiful lady who is more than willing to show you the ropes.  

While agencies can be a wonderful source of entertainment in the hobby, the difference and nuances associated with agency ladies are probably best put aside until you have taken the plunge with a classy indy lady.  Good luck dude.  Be safe and happy hunting...
