what is a cathartic massage

I have no f'n idea.  Hope someone can help you, as obviously I can't.

In medicine, a cathartic is a substance that accelerates defecation.  Catharsis or cathartic event is also a Purification or event that Brings about spiritual renewal.    I could see different massages accomplishing either of these.  Better ask whoever is offering!

That it is a euphemism for a massage with a happy ending.  Maybe you could give a little context? Was this in an ad that you saw?
