The standard is to bring an envelope of cash and place it down without mentioning it in some conspicuos spot when you enter.  Most gals have instructions for this on their websites.

A few gals require deposits for first timers and/or situation where they are traveling a distance to get to you.

In this case, you have to decide based upon the gal's reputation whether you want to chance forwarding a deposit or not.

There are horror stories on both sides of clients getting ripped off and providers investing in travel and hotel rooms only to be stood up and be out a wad of loot.

mrfisher is quite correct.  I would only consider sending an advance is if there were travel expenses involved.  I would not consider something of the sort on a first meeting.

Most ladies specify placing the donation without any discussion on a table or such.  Some prefer the bathroom.  He should be instructed on your web site to not mention it in any fashon.  Some ladies move it or check it while he's out of the room.  Some check it in front of the gent which most clients find tacky.  

My Favs are "old school" where the gent places the donation (discretely & without mention) while redressing.  This is preferable from a LE stand point...

There are pros & cons to each approach.  In either case I like the gentle process that does not disturb the illusion of the GFE.

I walk in, greet, hug, kiss.

Put the donation on the TV stand.

Say, "I'm going to go wash up."

At that point she can count it or put it away, I don't care.  I know that she saw me put it down.

When I return from the washroom, the fun begins!

I'm similar...

I "empty my pockets" of donation, keys, cell phone (off with pin code to turn on), watch, glasses, etc. (no wallet)

I then head to clean up...

It is simple... only essentials on the body on dates... also they are women... get a sexy 'small' card like a xmas present card, preferably shiny... ( they are girls ) and place the beans in that. It always gets a great response in my exp.
