Good advice except for one thing

Picked up hobby phone via walmart.  It still has the generic greeting on the voicemail.  i.e. "you have reached the voicemail for 555-1212, please leave a message"

Question:  should I change the generic to a personalized greeting on the voicemail so the ladies will have both a name and a number?    How do the ladies feel about this matter?  If I need to personalize the greeting, what info should I include in the greeting?

Thanks!

Mine just says Hi this ____, I can't take your call right now, but if you leave your name and number, I'll be sure to call you back.

Which would you prefer them to hear?

Your voice and name or a generic phone number greeting?

Approach everything with discretion.  You've made the right choice by purchasing a secondary phone specifically for the business.  Now continue to roll the ladder up behind you as you go along.

As long as you identify yourself when you call or leave a voicemail (hopefully you will remember to note whether or not it is appropriate to call you back and in what time frame, a lot of guys forget this) nothing else is required of you.

As long I as repeat my hobby number twice (slowly to make it easy) and explain that I have a generic / machine-like voicemail greeting, I should be okay then?  Most ladies won't be turned off by that?

Hi, this is mrfisher.  If you are getting this message it means that I am banging someone else right now. Please leave a message at the beep."

But seriously folks, be discreet and leave the default message.  People will understand.

Mine is generic/default and most providers will use the same default message. Just like your hobby email you don't want to spell out who you are in real life.

No one hardly ever uses their real information in this hobby for varying reasons. You want to remain anonymous as much as possible.

PS - Leave that hobby phone blank of anything personal and don't put contacts in it...

The more places you put your name, the more you increase your chances of getting caught.

Hmm.. I 'unno, honey, I think the whole point of the hobby phone is NOT to get caught.

Myself, I like a vm with your name on it.  That way I know I'm reaching the right person.

Most girls won't call you unless you ask them to anyway and sometimes that return message comes later in the day or the next day.

maybe replace real name with TER handle on voicemail?  that might be even worse if an unlocked phone fell into the wrong hands?!

that if you have a hobby phone, with your name in the message, it makes it that much tougher to lie your ass off when wifey finds the phone. You can always say that Fred left it in your car if, there is no name to tie you to it.

For the same reason, you should never keep any of your lady friends' numbers in memory. Pissed off wives can really fuck up your day, as well as ours.

Never really understood the point. I never call my clients after a session, unless the ask or initiate. I think the phone is just another step to feelin guilty and getting caught. I always advise to just save my number under a mans name and or business.. OR under a already know number to the SO as a second number for contact :)

in the order in which they are received. Your expected wait time is twenty three days, four hours, sixteen minutes and thiry three seconds."

but then again, I don't have a SO to worry about "busting" me.  I still prefer to be discreet, but have no reason to be paranoid.

We know the drill : ).
No one is going to be turned off by a generic "you have reached 917-555-5555.  At the tone please leave a message" - we don't care what is on your voicemail greeting.

When you leave a message for us just do it like this:

"Hi my name is John and I saw your ad on Eros.  I'm interested in speaking with you and possibly making an appointment.  My phone number is 917-555-5555, feel free to call me back but only before 5 pm today. if you don't reach me I will try you again tomorrow, thanks."

Easy Peezy.

Have fun Johnnytex!

My wife pays the bill for our cell phone. I call the ladies for the room number, hence suspicious numbers on the bill.  That is why I have a hobby phone.....

The other reason to have a hobby phone is in case a provider caught by LE and they search her phone records, your number will turn up and they can identify you.

is to keep from leaving tracks on your regular phone...  tracks that last forever!  Leaving tracks is sloppy & sloppy can get you caught!  Maybe not the first time, though some have.  If one ever gets suspected of stepping out, let's not leave confirmation just laying all about.  I'd much rather be more careful than I need to be than later wish I'd been more so!

If the crap ever hits the fan, my hobby phone can go between a tire & asphault with no significant loss.

I'm just saying for me personally, it makes little sense to have a hobby phone.  I have no SO, and if I walk into an LE sting, they will be much more interested in taking me in front of the judge to pad their stats than they will be going though my phone.  Don't watch too many episodes of CSI guys.

I also have no SO and I have no need for a hobby phone. Truth be told, I probably have several dozen providers numbers saved on my phone, some of them in other countries. lol

I can imagine the "CSI" guys going through my phone. roflmao
