I'm considering the hobby, but I have two concerns:

1.  I hope I'm not the only married person, but I want to go through screening without exposing my self to getting busted by the significant other.  But, how do I go through screening without using the home phone.  Cell?  Does that work with caller id?
2.  I saw some screenings require work verification.  I am selfemployed and sole-employee .  I have a LLC, but no pay stubs.  How does that work?

Thanks for any help with these newbie questions I just could find answers to.

you sound like me on both 1 and 2 - what I found was that you politely approach the lady you want to see and tell her the issue you just did, and it's acceptable to most - once you've seen a couple, now you have references and you're totally cool.

Just be understanding of the ladies that want more info - it's their preference, don't bash them just because it doesn't work for your needs - just politely move on.

Jeopardizing or compromising your privacy would be professional suicide.  Reputable providers guarantee discretion, respect privacy.

I never ask for a home phone number. It's not necessary.   However, I do want a cell number so I know it's you when you call.  Most cell numbers are unlisted, and can only be searched on Intellius for a fee.

Since you have no experience with providers, the only screening available is a work verification.  Is your business listed in phone book?  Do you have an office or shop?  Do you have a web page?  Business cards? Professional license? Are you listed in any directories on the web?   Is your LLC registered with the state in which you do business?  If so, it's a searchable public record.

There are ways to verify, and experienced providers are creative while maintaining their standards for screening.  You have to understand that reputable providers will refuse to see you if you are not willing to give them some personal information with which to verify your identity, and show a photo ID when you come through the door.    Would you welcome a perfect stranger into your home without knowing something about them?
