Grrrrrr this past month or so has been absurdly slow. Is it because it's summer or am I just doing something wrong?

Are there ways to garner extra business without appearing desperate? Do you ladies usually just ride out the storm or do you take more drastic measures?

Lets say anyone who scheduled between June 1 and August 31 received "summer rate" and was grandfathered at that rate for 6 months.

It worked pretty well

at least in my city there a lot more ladies touring through town, so competition is up which gives us gents more choice. Some ladies reach out to their regulars just to let them know they are around and perhaps have special rates

Bottom line, providing is not like it used to be. Most of us realized this back in 09 when the bottom fell out, and secured other income. I would suggest a part time job before lowering your rates or having to lower your standards just to get by. Servers, Bartenders and Managers in high end restaurants make over a grand a week in tips plus salary...some make twice and thrice that in areas like LA and NYC.

From what my Provider tells me, it's been slow for her too. There have been times this summer that she tells me I'm the only Client she has seen in a few days. She has called me almost in tears that it's been so slow that she needed Money to pay her Bills and buy things at the Food Market. How do I know? Well I've taken her to the Store to buy Food and pay her Bills. She is so Sweet and treats me Nice during our Sessions that I don't mind helping her out when I can.

That's very kind of you. I'm not quite starving just yet, but let's hope it doesn't get to that point.

Meh, I'm not aware of a whole lot of visiting ladies who I'd consider to be my direct competition, simply because of differences in looks, age, price points, etc. But I suppose you never know. Unfortunately the majority of my regulars keep getting sent out of town for work or have kids at home all day since school is out.

She's not close to living on a Park Bench, but she did need Food and pay her Bills on that day. This isn't a daily or weekly occurrence. She does have some Regulars that see her. But probably not as much as I see her. She's really Nice and Sweet. How can I not help her out?

I guess I'm just super reluctant to offer "specials." Maybe something small would be in order.

I do think touring girls who are new to the market get a boost just by being the new girl. There are a few ladies here that are offering specials and posting on bp that never did before.
Hopefully things pick up for you beautiful:). I'm still trying to work out a trip to see you!!!

I do have another job, but even that has been pretty slow (college area so a lot of people are back home for the summer). The plus side to that is that there's actually street parking within a two-mile radius of my apartment for once. The minus side is, well, everything else about summer. No me gusta.

If you have the relationship with regulars, reach out to them and let them know you are slow and would like to see them. As long as they are cool with the contact.

Personally its a little flattering. It's always nice to know you are wanted.

Like the other poster I too have reverted something of a sugar relationship with two providers. Both are low volume/UTR and dependent on their regulars. So when both had their other regulars flake this summer, I stepped up.

Luckily I put most of what I make when things are busy in my savings account.

I am starting to see it pick back up a little, though, and I know that that releasing my new website and professional photos in early Sept will help. I am really hesitant to offer specials for anything other than doubles, which I do occasionally if a provider friend is visiting NY. I feel like it'll cause guys not to see me at my regular rate because they'll be waiting for me to offer another.

That's what I'm worried about too. I'd rather ride it out than have a rate reduction be detrimental in the future.

I guess I'm just super hesitant to do that kind of "reaching out." I figure that the majority of clients see providers specifically to avoid any neediness or whatever. I have a couple of appointments set up for next week, so hopefully that's indicative of an upswing. Fingers crossed!

Stick it out and always have  something stashed for leaner times so you don't have to run specials.

Don't know your average clientele, but if like most it is married guys, this is pretty typical.  Summer usually requires more family time, so it is harder to get away.  Kids out of school, vacations, etc.  These things affect availability and budget for many.  School will be starting back pretty soon, so my guess is that things will normalize.  Hey, some of those guys who have had to hold off may even be anxious to spend a little more, lol.

It never hurts to ask a client if they would be cool with you contacting them.

Remember guys and gals that see providers generally have tjeir shit together on down low aspect of it. So them giving you a hobby email address or txt number from the play phone shouldn't be a big deal.

I make it point to give a new to me provider my email if they want it and I want them to have it aka I would see them again.

Remember communication is key to any relationship hobby or otherwise.

Here along the Coastal Shores of NC has pretty much come to a stand still!!
Phone is very quiet.A few of my regulars have dialed in from the ad, but for the most part very quiet.
I normally have enough friends to make it through the month without posting(Yes, I use BP with all positive results.) I do my best to avoid it, but It is there and it is available when needed. I am sure most are aware of the new changes happening here, so no need for me to get into any of that, but It does make me wonder,is it slow b/c most are away tending to end of  summer functions with families or could it be the other?? So... BCG you are not alone! be patient:-)

Hey 'Bad'... hang in there.  Seriously.

Look, I don't live anywhere near Cincinnati so I have no ulterior motive in this but to tell you the truth--- truth is, you are amazing. you look amazing.  sound amazing... you are seriously really really cool.

You are mainstream and unique at the same time --- starting a new business takes time.  I've done it.  And just when you think you can't take it anymore something good often happens IF you have made a good choice in the business you've chosen, worked hard to be successful, and done all the right things to succeed. You get a check mark for each.  If I did live in near you I would be visiting you weekly.  I don't know much but I do know you will succeed.  Bad times usually force out the one who can't cut it leaving the field wide open to the cream of the crop when things pick up.  You're different.  You'll succeed.

I was going to suggest touring if you could break away for even 2 days. A direct flight area, where hotels are not super expensive might be the ticket. I used to tour every summer in year's past because of how slow it was in my area, and made bank. I would try Minnesota....heavy TER presence

You're in one of the toughest markets around, and have to compete with flawless super models who charge less than you do. Texas is the same way, but the rates are dirt cheap.

Yeah, luckily I like being low volume. I don't think I'm competing directly with the supermodel types, either, since I have the SuicideGirl/Burning Angel look.
