I want to sign up since I dont have enough references, but as I was filling out the form, I saw that they asked for work phone and felt a little iffy about that. Has anyone gone through this? If they did call, did you know they called?  If this were a business job..i wouldnt be as worried..but I work in a field where it can get pretty bad if they find out the reason why a verification site is calling.

Use the search feature.  You'll find all the answers you need in detail. In short, YES they call your job. About the only thing they say is " May I speak to Mr. so and so (YOU), then ask you your security question that you filled out on application to verify it's you, then they'll say congradulations you win-you passed-blah blah and say you'll get an email with your confirmation or ID number!  These people are very professional and discreet, they are very easy to work with if you have questions or concerns, email and ask them for details or about special ways you need to be contacted.
