Hi everrrybody!!!

I feel like I've been asking lots of questions lately and it must be annoying, but I promise to keep monitoring this board and provide answers when I have them.

So, I just ran a phone number search of a provider I found on, well, on a site I'm not supposed to mention for some reason.  Got the old no records found. Plugged the same number into google and imagine my surprise when the top result was a profile on here.

I triple checked that both searches were done for the same number, even though copy paste assured they would be. I made sure the whole search form was blank except the phone number.  I will say that when I looked at the profile I noticed the phone number I was searching was in the phone 2 spot, and that the newest review was three years old. Don't know if those could be factors.  

Interestingly, the guy who wrote the newest of the ten reviews there specifically said he thought he was TOFTT when he went to her. The best reviews were not good and most were pretty bad so I'm really glad I found them instead of TOFTT myself. I also feel a bit paranoid about how many providers I thought weren't here but maybe really are.

My thinking is that to cast a wide net and find anyone and everyone, you don't do anything to narrow down the search results. I had it set to all countries all cities. Everything blank except phone number. Any provider anywhere using that number, even if by typo, should've come up, I think. I've successfully found the profiles of dozens of providers this way. I ran the search two or three times, no results. Then Google finds her profile for me, top result. Like I said, it happened to at least one guy who reviewed her as well.

I don't know what I could be screwing up.  Doesn't really matter in this case, but like I said, how often does it happen that I don't know about?  

Might this be related to the item in one of the drop menus that says "providers with something to hide"? I've never found an explanation for what that is.

I just did a google search for someone I know but who is retired and had her Profile deleted. I can still find google hits on various sites and even links to some old TER URLs. However, even with knowledge of her Provider name, email (I have my old emails with her) and phone (I have that, too!), she does not show up in a review search. Zilch. Doesn't exist.

I also know her TER ID and that is the most definitive search. When I search a clear form for her TER ID only, I get:
  Provider Not Found!!
  Provider information is no longer available on TER.

That means that her Profile DID exist but has been deleted.  

"Then Google finds her profile for me, top result." - What happened when you clicked on that link? Anything or "Provider Not Found!!"? From the URL, do you see a 6 digit number? The URL might be something like this:  https://www.theeroticreview.com/reviews/show.asp?id=###### Take that number (######) and search a clear TER search form.  

Without  more details, I am guessing that you are searching for someone who realized that she had lousy reviews and asked TER to remove her Profile and associated info

Don't think she retired though. For one, she posted an ad today, though I will say it was on a board I've been pretty darn familiar with over the last few months and I've never seen her before. I guess she could've told TER she retired.

Except that the search here doesn't say info no longer available, as you indicated. I get the same old no records were found result I've seen a hundred times.

Also, when I follow the Google result I land on what looks like a live profile. The links on the page seem to work, it all looks like every other profile I've seen, etc. I'll try to link it here. If it works, the number in phone 2 field is what I was searching for.

Also, again, the guy who wrote her tenth review thought he was reviewing a provider new to TER as he wrote it (surely he had searched for her first), yet that review found its way to her pre-existing profile. That is the strangest part to me.  

I'm starting to have two suspicions about this issue: that it is basically irrelevant, and that I am making some kind of boneheaded, embarrassing mistake. My morbid sense of curiosity won't allow me to let it go though.

Retirement isn't the only valid reason for deletion of a Profile. To hide her lousy reviews, she can ask TER to remove her Profile and say it's due to stalking or something. And she remains active (and lousy) until someone submits a "new" review and Profile. I said above: "What happened when you clicked on that link?" What do you get?

"From the URL, do you see a 6 digit number?" I see the last 6 digits and searching on TER ID ###### produces a valid Profile.    

(The link you provided has a typo: https//www... is missing a colon after the https.  Should be https://www... BUT I can still see the ###### in the link and copy that to a search box.)

I agree: when I search on OTHER (non-TER ID) fields (name, phone numbers), I do not find her Profile. Not a big deal. He created a duplicate Profile, someone reported that it's the same Provider as in ######  and the reviews were merged and the newer Profile deleted.  
   Your mistake is wasting your (and MY) time on someone with such outdated yet uniformly negative reviews.

I have entered in either a phone number or an email address in the advanced search area to verify a provider before I use her for a reference and it brought up no record found.

I also have triple checked my information.

If I don't find a provider on the advanced search then I Google her. Sometimes this brings up a ton of information for a well-established provide her with reviews on TER.  I can access her page of reviews from her website or some other way, and I can see that the phone number or email address I've been entering is correct.

I reported this to TER in the past but they say the search works for us so there is nothing we can do.

I realize we are talking about two different things, possibly, but maybe not. There's no doubt that this is happened to me several times. Probably more than five and less than 10 times in the last six or seven years and I am certain the information I have entered in has been correct.

I would instead enter the info on goggle and Google will most likely find the right link for you. Ex: -name- -phone #- TER

Some for security reasons, others to lose bad reviews.  It's easy to reinvent herself in ads (though she'll likely be recognized by hobbiests / reviewers.)

Entering the number shown on a provider's profile as "phone 2"  when using the TER search tool will in most instances yield "no results found".  TER should fix that.

A little more than a year ago, I was returning to the business after an extended hiatus.  I needed to find my old TER profile & reviews, and conducted a search (for myself lol) using my old phone number: nada.   Then, I searched my email address and I popped right up...... and my old phone number was still on my profile, even though it hadn't helped me to find myself.  

Weird.  :shrug:

Good point...

It would have shown up if it was phone 1. Since you found it by googling though, it doesn't really matter. I usually use google and the TER reviews pop up, if they exist.

Harbor, I'm sure they change their numbers all the time. If she changes her number, then yeah that's that until someone gets her new number added to her profile. I'm talking about a number that is on a profile but still isn't popping any search results. I think we may be saying two different things? Anyways, thanks for helping, here and elsewhere.

Impposter, sorry man. Also, thanks for your efforts.  I dunno how a typo got in the link. I hit the Google result I was talking about, found myself looking at a TER profile, and copy-pasted the address bar. I blame this POS ifon.

Ya know what though everybody!!  Impposter is right, waste of time. I'm thinking asking "why doesn't this phone number search work like it should?" Is like asking "how exactly does the posi-traction in the rear end of a Plymouth work?" It just does!! Glitch in the matrix. Whatever. I'm over it.  For the record, I didn't care about this provider, just wondered how many others I have/will search for and something similar happen and I never know. But it's a zebra, never mind the whole deal I'm shutting this bitch down.
