Do you know what hotel usually rent a room by hours? I don't want to pay whole night, but just use one hour.

These hotels are generally Indian owned (think dot, not tepee), and they are NEVER in the high rent district. Often located near truck stops.

Honestly, you don't want to stay in these places, and neither will a quality escort.

Stay at a nice three star which you can find with Priceline for as little as $50 (Town Suites, Holiday Inn Exp., Sheraton Four Points, etc.)

Hobby wisely, not cheaply.

frequented by "streetwalkers," I wouldn't suggest a hotel that rents by the hour.  It would be simpler to just carry a neon sign that says you are looking to get arrested.

Use some common sense.  People do not rent hotel rooms by the hour for legitimate purposes!

Use a Red Roof or Motel Six if you don't want to spring for a better room.  You can also try Price line but you may get stuck someplace you don't want to be...

I actually heard a few years back about some hotels on the pretty nice end of things renting out for several hours- for naps for travelers or something along those lines. I kid you not about this. I think I was taking a break from the biz when I read that because I didn't pay much attention. I haven't run across anything about it in quite some time.

I stayed for 2 nights!

My standard line is that I had a flight get delayed and am just looking for a few hours sleep.

They Hyatt near me is $150/night, but has a day rate of $85 (9am-6pm). Designed for business people who need a place to relax (yeah, right). However, it is still cheaper to use Hotwire ($55/night) and Priceline ($42/night).

It depends on what hour you need. If you want Noon guaranteed, the day rate is the way to go. For 4pm, Hotwire or Priceline will work. For 10am, you need to book the night before.

There is a hotel nearby that is a "romantic couples hotel", and offers afternoon rates. Once you are a member, you can book almost any 4 hour period you want during the week.

There is a website where people put in Hotwire and Priceline hotels they have received. I've used it to figure out the going price, and to know in advance which hotel I am likely to get.

Not an issue in my neck of the woods.  There are a few "hot" local motels but that sort of stuff is fodder for the local boards.

I can wholeheartedly recommend a wonderful place in way downtown New York, and half-heartedly recommend a place in midtown, too.

Both places are "shortstays", and both offer a variety of time/budget choices.

The downtown place even had a condom dispensing machine in the lobby. And was very, very clean.
